Christmas is the celebration of the Incarnation, which is the central point of God's mission to the nations of the world. When we find our place in story of the mission of God we find the reason for the season!
What is so significant of the title Christ? Christ is not just Jesus’ second or last name. The true meaning of Christ is just not Savior, Deliverer or Messiah but “THE Anointed One”. There were three offices in the Old Testament that were traditionally anointed. These three offices include prophets, priests, and kings. Jesus, The Anointed One fulfills the anointed roles as prophet, priest and king perfectly.

The Living Christ: The Testimony of the ApostlesGary Hasson
When the 11 Apostles of Jesus’s day met to choose a man to replace Judas Iscariot, Peter stated that the new Apostle must be “a witness with us of [Christ’s] resurrection” (Acts 1:22). Later, the record states, the Apostles “with great power gave … witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 4:33). The prophets, seers, and revelators of our day are also “special witnesses of the name of Christ in all the world” (D&C 107:23). They publicly declared their testimony in “The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles” on January 1, 2000.
Encountering Jesus: Through the Holy SpiritRuel Guerrero
Jesus breathe on the disciples after his resurrection to receive the Holy Spirit. But he also told them before he ascended to wait for the Father's gift, the infilling of the Holy Spirit. When Pentecost came, the prophecy of Joel was fulfilled and the disciples were empowered to preach the Gospel throughout the world (Acts 2:1-21).

An updated version of the introduction to our gospel series "Growing Deep in the Gospel". In it we look at how Jesus, the Gospel, the Church and the Mission form the basis of the "Big Picture". If we understand the "Big Picture" we will be able to better answer questions like "What does God says life is all about?", "Why did God create me?", "What is the purpose of life?", "What is God's will for me?", and "How do I decide what is important in life?".
According to Leonard Sweet, "Missions is the family business…" But for every business to succeed, their needs to be a clearly defined business goal, business plan, and well trained workers for the business. The question is, are you in the family business? This talk was given to the men of Christ Fellowship McKinney on September October 12th, 2013. I would be blessed to present it to the men of your church.
