Professional Profile:
I am a chartered spatial planner with seventeen years of experience in strategic and statutory
planning in local government in the UK and Australia. I am committed to achieving sustainable
development in order to maximise economic, social and environmental benefits, and create high
quality places for all. I hold a valid skilled visa giving me permanent resident status in Australia.
I have significant experience in a wide range of planning work from the production of authority-wide
development plans and supporting evidence base and research, through area planning, urban
design, business and community engagement to involvement in major and controversial
development schemes, presenting evidence at planning hearings and the assessment of
development applications. This has principally been within an urban context with a focus on town
centre development and employment uses but I also have significant experience in housing issues
and a background and interest in flood risk, green infrastructure and waste planning. I also have
significant experience in wider spatial planning at the city region level.
Professional Skills:
 Plan Making – extensive skills in production and amendment of regional, local and
neighbourhood development plans including consultation, legal process and policy writing;
 Development Assessment – proven ability to manage large and varied caseload of
development applications including major housing and commercial schemes, heritage issues,
changes of use, householder alterations, signage, etc.;
