ABSA - Amalgamated Banks of South Africa. This project has various applications on credit cards,
home loans, customer care, banking etc.
Internet Banking is the E-banking application of ABSA. It is used for Beneficiary Payment, Once off
payments, Inter Account Transfers, Western Union Money Transfer, Transaction, Prepaid Recharge,
Traffic Fine, Prepaid Electricity, Cash send Transactions etc. It includes Web banking, Mobile
banking and USSD banking which was SMS service banking .The backend system is Mainframe calls
to which are made via Scramblers and MQ.
ABSA Online AOL is the Replacement for old Internet banking Application. It has all the similar
functionalities like IB but based on Different Technologies including XSLT, Backbase, Web services
and so on .It only includes web banking. The backend system is again Mainframe but frontend calls
are via Web Services.
Prepaid Debit Card was a web Application wherein the Customer can order Prepaid Debit cards.
This cards can be used to pay Salaries/Wages to Employees, can be used to issue Gift Cards for Staff
Incentives, rewards etc. The person who receives this card need not have a bank account and can
simply go to an ATM to withdraw Money.
