• A regional hike-planning resource created with Python/Django and using feedback from other
hikers to help the user decide which adventure to embark on next.
• Deployed to DigitalOcean in an Nginx, Gunicorn stack and uses GeoDjango, Leaflet, Javascript
and XHR to create a searchable, map-browsable app for finding hikes in the Pacific Northwest.
• Features include search by name, search by distance from a given zip code, browse hikes in sub-
regions by list or map in a modal window, hiker registration and login, and photo uploads within
hiker profiles.
• Future features include the ability to "check-in/check-out" of hikes for average speed calculations
and safety options, improvements to the driving distance search, and native mobile access.
• An API, using Django REST framework, is currently in the planning stages.

• Began as an intern and quickly progressed to leadership role in management of other interns;
ultimately became day-to-day point of contact for client. After internship, only intern to be hired
into the company and told by COO that I had greatly exceeded what the company had come to
expect from an intern.
• Coded a multi-client, SaaS small business scheduling/management web app from the ground up.
• Optimized the backend Django querysets resulting in page loads of 1/10
th
the original load time.
• Created a plugin app to dynamically create completely customizable forms via a JSON object
descriptor.
• Acted as a peer leader, creating and assigning tasks via Jira, and aiding teammates in working
through code stumbling blocks via pair programming.
