Title I Reading Specialist Estacada School District August 1996-Present
Responsibilities include the following:
 Coordinate the Title I Reading Program at Eagle Creek Elementary
 Provide remedial reading instruction to students in kindergarten through
sixth grade
 Provide training for all Title I staff in the implementation of best practices
in the teaching of reading; effective use of the curricula; administration of the
following reading assessments: DIBELS Next & 6th edition; DRA;
running records; Quick Phonics Screener; curriculum-based assessments
 Develop lesson plans for the Title I reading staff
 Organize school-wide benchmark reading screening/progress monitoring
 Train classroom teachers in the administration of the DIBELS reading
assessment and other reading assessment tools, as needed.
 Use assessment data to place students in appropriate reading
interventions and to modify those interventions to best serve students
 Provide assessment data and interpretation of that data to teachers
 Provide training for parents in how to best support their children in
reading and pre-reading skill development
 Comply with all Title I Grant requirements

 Provided 75+ hours of support and non-evaluative feedback per mentee

Responsibilities include the following:
 Revised and edited the district RTI Handbook and collaborated with the
RTI Leadership Team to develop the RTI structure at the elementary level
 Organize and facilitate school-wide and grade level data team meetings at
Eagle Creek Elementary for the purpose of evaluating the core reading
curriculum and instruction and evaluating specific student interventions
 Provide support to Eagle Creek staff in the teaching of reading via the
following avenues: communication regarding current research and
teaching methods, data team meetings, individual and group consultations,
and the modeling of lessons
 Trained district elementary staff in the administration of DIBELS Next
 Organized a 6-week, after-school reading intervention for at-risk
