Intern, Cranberry Hospice and Palliative Care, Plymouth, MA
Worked as a bereavement social worker under the supervision of the LICSW Bereavement
Coordinator for the agency. Responsibilities included assessment of bereavement needs of
patients, families, and community members. Conducted loss groups for bereaved clients
including children, spouses/partners, and adult children. Worked closely with the hospice team in
identifying patients and family members who would benefit from pre-bereavement grief
interventions and support. One-on-one grief counseling provided to a range of clients including
patients, family members, and significant others. Strong written and verbal communication skills
were required using Outlook, Word, and internal documentation systems. Created an MSW
Intern Manual for incoming interns to supplement agency orientation and learning.

assessing new patients’ health, personal and environmental needs, making referrals to external
agencies, and advocating for patients and their families. Attended Applied Suicide Intervention
Skills Training (ASIST), Complicated Grief Seminar at Massachusetts General Hospital, group
and individual sessions for patients in our Suboxone program and Behavioral Health. Created a
Resource Manual for our health care providers.
