The document discusses the concept of sustainable and densified cities. It advocates for carefully considering the use of land and integrating the notion of space as a scarce resource. The document proposes we conciliate diverse users and uses, densify cities to amplify their beauty and accessibility, hybridize functions in single places to invent new building types, and retrofit existing structures proudly without leaving a footprint. The official Danish contribution to the Venice Biennale promotes the "thinking city" concept, posing urban questions and presenting Copenhagen's answers.
- Helped in the design of interior spaces by drawing Concept diagrams, plans, elevations, sections.
- Made 3D models and visualisations of the proposed development using SketchUp and V-Ray.
- Provided assistance during meetings with the local authority and planning consultants.
- Researched case studies of similar projects to inform the design process.
- Assisted with the production of planning documents such as Design and Access Statement.
The project aimed to:

The document discusses the redevelopment of Auckland's waterfront by landscape architects Taylor Cullity Lethlean. The architects were engaged to create a public space that would attract people to the waterfront and encourage private investment. Unlike other redevelopments that erased history, the architects decided to build on the existing uses of the wharves, silos, and fish market. They designed public spaces that wove into the ongoing maritime and fishing functions. This allowed the community to experience Auckland's waterfront in a new way while keeping the gritty industrial qualities that attracted people. The award-winning design shifted how landscape architecture engages with urban areas.
The document is Brandon Taylor's resume, listing his contact information, education, and design projects. It includes summaries and illustrations of 7 projects: a Capstone project redesigning a harbor front area, a mixed-use plaza in North Hollywood, a residential streetscape in Oceano, California, a design/build landscape project, a hotel garden redesign, and custom built chairs. The projects showcase Brandon's skills in site design, landscape architecture, illustration and construction documentation.
The document discusses design as more than just the drawing board phase, and as a mindset that influences and adds value throughout a process. It emphasizes that design doesn't stop at rounding edges and adding features, but is a way of thinking that can impact all phases. The summary highlights the key points that design is a mindset, not just a drawing board activity, and that it can influence and add value throughout an entire process.

The document discusses strategies for creating livable cities in the 21st century based on principles of people-oriented planning and design. It advocates shifting the focus from prioritizing vehicles to prioritizing pedestrians by improving walking environments, making streets more accessible and direct, and increasing public spaces where people can safely interact. As an example, it outlines plans to reconstruct Christchurch, New Zealand in a people-focused way after earthquakes by rebuilding at a lower scale with a compact, walkable central business district surrounded by green spaces and mobility networks to activate public life. The goal is to shape cities in a way that invites walking, cycling and spending time outdoors through high-quality urban design.

1) The proposal seeks to redefine the empty space around Leiden's historic canal ring by sculpting the vegetation masses through selective cutting, pruning, transplanting, and planting of trees.
2) This sculpting aims to reveal open areas sloping down to the canal to recreate the scale and qualities of the historic "glacis" or empty periphery around the city.
3) The sculpting will privilege planting new trees so that more trees are added than removed, and will focus on preserving existing prominent and beautiful trees through consultation with stakeholders.
The proposed Art Connector project aims to integrate art into the walkway between the City Hall MRT station and the National Gallery in Singapore. The design team's concept is to make the connector an engaging experience through art, with a flowing canopy structure and integration of creative responses from Singaporeans about the future of art in their country. The connector's design harmonizes with the surrounding urban context and balances local and foreign interests. Its reflective panels and engraved pavement will display an artistic vision of balance between the sky and earth inspired by the collected responses. The feasibility study addresses site constraints and proposes a construction program that can realize the project within a tight timeframe.

“Modern ruins, as tangible remnants of
the recent past, offer the potential to transport us
radically beyond the experience of the everyday
to a unique space of transition between past and
present, the affect of which is heightened by its
proximity in time to the moment of immediate
experience. As representations of the broader
transience of history, they fracture the notion of
progress, of finite beginnings and endings, of
distinct readings of past events – they are spaces
in which the conflict between a dead past and an
accessible, readable history plays out.”
