Asafak Husain is a 4th year undergraduate student studying Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee. He has maintained high academic performance throughout his education. During summer internships, he gained practical experience working at a 220kV grid substation where he learned about power transmission and distribution. Some of his projects include developing a dual-axis solar tracker and designing a buck converter circuit. He has strong skills in programming languages and mathematics. INTERNSHIP INFORMATION
220KV GRID SUBSTATION MADAR, AJMER
SUMMER INTERNSHIP (45 days)
I choose a substation because here I can learn about transformers, protection of power system ,
transmission and distribution with all of their practical aspects. Transmission voltage is 220KV that is
fed to the GSS and in the same GSS, it step down to 132KV, 33KV and primary distribution voltage
11KV. I learnt operation, maintenance of the a substation.
Moereover I learnt many new aspects about practical actions in power system stability that enhanced
my understanding of power system.
PLCC structure and how is beneficial in data transmission to LDC and protection, this is also I have
learn during this summer.
PROJECTS
IIT Roorkee (electronic section project)
DUAL AXIS SOLAR TRACKER (One month)
I was mentor of a ARDUINO bases project on "Dual Axis Solar Tracker".In this project we build a
solar tracker that can adjust it's alignment according to the maximum incident light.
This project won second prize in "HOME AUTOMATION CATEGORY" in Srushti, local IITR festival.

BUCK CONVERTER (One month)
I have done a project on BUCK converter under prof. S.P.Sharma.I, Ashish choudhary, Sameer
Ahmad designed a BUCK CONVERTER and construct it as a single circuit.We used a driver circuit
and micro controller to reduce the voltage,that was generating from solar PV cells, from 40V to 18V
using Pulse Width Modulation

I was key player in your one sided victory.Throughout the tournament I bowled consistently well and
got maximum wickets and also play a crucial inning in the final to grab the cup.

I was key member of my bhawan cricket team and played a crucial role in success of the team. We
won silver medal in the competition.
