VOLTAGE PROFILE IMPROVEMENT AND LINE LOSSES REDUCTION USING DG USING GSA AND ...Journal For Research
In recent years, the power industry has experienced significant changes on the power distribution systems primarily due to the implementation of smart-grid technology and the incremental implementation of distributed generation. Distributed Generation (DG) is simply defined as the decentralization of power plants by placing smaller generating units closer to the point of consumption, traditionally ten mega-watts or smaller. The distribution power system is generally designed for radial power flow, but with the introduction of DG, power flow becomes bidirectional. Therefore this thesis focuses on testing various indices and using effective techniques for the optimal placement and sizing of the DG unit by minimizing power losses and voltage deviation. A 14-bus radial distribution system has been taken as the test system. The feasibility of the work lies on the fast execution of the programs as it would be equipped with the real time operation of the distribution system and it is seen that execution of the DG placement is quite fast and feasible with the optimization techniques used in this work.

EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS:
A.
Completed the pre final year project on “PLANT WATERING WATCHER AND AUTOMATICALLY WATERING IT
ACCORDING TO REQUIREMENT.
Everyplanthas itsdifferentrequirement of water so in this project by measurement of soil resistance and
by setting the variable resistor accordingly, this project automatically waters the plant as per its requirement
and ths it reduces human effort of watering any plant.
B.
Completed the final year project on “VEHICLE JAMMER”
Thisprojectisbasicallya thirdlevel security project in which a cop can easily turn off engine of any vehicle
justby enteringitsregistrationnumberif the vehicle in its range, this project uses radio waves so the range of
control can be increased as per requirement, thus it is useful for controlling overspeeding and countering hit
and run casesbecause copsusuallydonothave powerful vehicles so that they can chase criminals so with the
help of this project they can stop them while sitting in their cars without running behind them.
INDUSTRIAL EXPOSURE:
A.
Vocational ManagementTraining inElectrical Maintenance Division at UPRVUNL, NATIONAL THERMAL POWER
CORPORATION,DADRI
Tasks Completed and Learning:
Learnt about the generation of electricity by using coal as a fuel to generate high pressure supersaturated
steam from the water and then driving the steam turbine from that steam to rotate the synchronous
generator’s shaft as the shaft of turbine and generator are mechanically coupled and thereby producing
4. electricity by using generator’s common principle that ‘‘EMF is induced in a conductor when it cuts magnetic
lines of force.’’ The generated power is then passed via step up transformer to grid for transmission.
