How Many Rigid Box Inner Tray Material Options?

After deciding your rigid box structure by reviewing Alagobox box structure collection,
you need to start selection of box inner tray or fitments.
Here are some inner trays or fitment material options for your choices, so you can let
us know which one you prefer to support your product considering your product
character and packaging function.
1. Paper Board Inner Tray
Various paper boards
with various thickness
options. Some of
them are kraft paper
board as brown color,
some of them are
white or black color.
Since such inner tray needs pretty much labor to fold them by hand, more labor cost
will incur.
To fold the board into some specific shape, sometimes, it needs folding line by die
cut holes for easier folding.
2. EVA
EVA means Ethylene-vinyl acetate, also (PEVA), is the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl
acetate. The weight
percent vinyl acetate
usually varies from 10
to 40%, with the
remainder being
ethylene.
To apply it as inner
tray or fitments, typically, black color or white color one will be used commonly. If
you choose other colors, there will be a minimum order quantity issue.
EVA can be used without any lamination on the top, but due to its color limit and
from out-looking consideration, some customers will require to laminate colorful
paper board onto surface or make colorful flocking onto the surface.
This material can be die cut through with your product outline shape, so it can be fit
your product perfectly and tightly. This will protect your product pretty good.
Such material inner tray needs die cut tooling cost.

3. Foam or Sponge
A foam is a substance that
is formed by trapping
pockets of gas in
a liquid or solid. In most
foams, the volume of gas is
large, with thin films of
liquid or solid separating
the regions of gas.
An important division of solid foams is into closed-cell foams and open-cell foams. In
a closed-cell foam, the gas forms discrete pockets, each completely surrounded by
the solid material. For most rigid box, we use closed-cell foams.
We can make die cut shape to fit your product outline. But it needs to be cut through
instead of partial through.
You can choose different density and thickness for foams, but we recommend high
density one to protect your product better.
4. Vacuum tray
PET vacuum tray will be
built into multiple shapes
with forming process, so
tooling cost will be
involved.
If the vacuum tray is strong
enough to support your
product depends on vacuum tray material thickness and designed shape. The thicker,
the stronger to support your product.
There are clear color vacuum trays or white trays, and clear one will be used more
commonly.
We can laminate colorful paper board onto vacuum tray surface, so as to show more
stylish looking even your end customer opened the packaging box.
5. Colorful Corrugated board tray
In recent years, more and
more customers began to
select colorful corrugated
board tray.
Corrugated paper board is
with good protection
function for your product,
and colorful corrugated paper board will also have much better looking.
It has multiple colors for your selection, and some of them are with special textures
or metallic powders.

This material will help you to protect your product perfectly, at the same time, to
display better when end customer opens your box and checks your product inside.
6. Pulp Tray
Pulp tray is made from wasted paper by molding
process by machine, so it is very eco-friendly. Due
to this character, more and more European and
American marketing are using this material.
This kind of material can be molded into almost
any shapes to fit your product perfectly, especially
many irregular different shapes, which will help protect your product better.
Also, it is anti-shock, anti-static and anti-corrosion.
This material will involve tooling cost when you start sampling.
