Divorce By: Alyssa Anderson
Topic Definition Divorce is the separation of two people by a court law. (according to www.dictionary.com)
Thesis Statement Although some marriages end in divorce the church believes it is morally wrong without reason.
Pro-divorce Divorce is beneficial if one of the spouses is abusive or has committed adultery Once a spouse has become abusive the marriage is past the point of repair Trying to change the spouse most likely won’t work because their abusive habits will still remain Restraining orders can be obtained in court to separate the abusive spouse from the victim
Pro-divorce continued Adultery shatters the trust the spouses share and cause resentment After adultery is committed most people are unable to ever trust their spouse again Adultery is grounds for a divorce and an annulment whether both want one or not

Religious aspects Jesus teaches in Matthew that marriage is forever it’s a bond that unites two people with God If a divorce is gotten by a court law and no annulment is gotten if the other person dates or remarries they are committing adultery A good marriage can’t be dissolved in God’s eyes except by death
