Moje ime je Milan Račić. Moja je obitelj odselila u Kanadu kad sam imao 8 godina. Nismo govorili engleski i cijeli smo život preselili u 7 kovčega.
Prvu noć u Torontu proveli smo u hotelu Westbury… u kojem je izbio požar.
Završili smo u restoranu gdje smo upoznali konobaricu iz Srbije koja nas je naučila prve riječi na engleskom jeziku – “ham and eggs” – što smo jeli za svaki obrok tijekom iduća dva tjedna, dok nismo naučili još riječi.
Ostali smo u Torontu. Moji su se roditelji zaposlili, a s vremenom su oboje pokrenuli vlastita poduzeća. Moja sestra i ja odrasli smo ondje. U Kanadi sam završio studij ekonomije, pa prava, pa magisterij prava. Moja je obitelj išla u hrvatsku crkvu – Crkvu naše Gospe, Kraljice Hrvata na Croatia Streetu. Doma smo govorili hrvatski. Jeli smo hrvatsku hranu. Bio sam u vezama s Hrvaticama.
Jedna me bivša djevojka jednom prilikom pitala zašto sam svake godine morao u Hrvatsku na ljetovanje. To joj je malo išlo na živce. Rekao sam joj da odlazim u Hrvatsku „napuniti dušu“.
Nisam je oženio… oženio sam Amerikanku koja je na to rekla: „I, kad putujemo?“ I doista smo doputovali 2006. godine. Zato je ova godina za mene svojevrsna obljetnica – predstavlja 10 godina mojeg života u Hrvatskoj.
Otkako znam za sebe, bez obzira na to gdje sam tada radio i živio – u Torontu, Winnipegu, Montréalu, San Antoniu, Münchenu ili Washingtonu – prve vijesti koje sam čitao kad bih sjeo za računalo bile su vijesti iz Hrvatske. Vidim da vas dosta kima glavom, znate o čemu pričam.
Naša ljubav prema ovoj zemlji uistinu dolazi do izražaja, zar ne? Hrvati su strastveni ljudi. Primijetite da sam rekao „Hrvati“, a ne „Hrvati iz dijaspore“. Hrvati iz dijaspore imaju hrvatske putovnice. Glasamo na izborima. Ovdje nasljeđujemo zemlju. Govorimo hrvatski. Svi smo u ovoj prostoriji Hrvati, nije bitno živimo li u Vancouveru ili u Varaždinu. Hrvati smo duhom, umom i tijelom .
To je način na koji razmišlja dijaspora.
Dakle… otprilike u vrijeme kada je HDZ počeo gurati Tihomira Oreškovića iz Vlade, u Večernjem listu je osvanuo tekst naslovljen Hrvati u Kanadi u šoku.
To me nije iznenadilo. Jer taj šok uključuje sljedeća pitanja –
Zašto nas ne vole? Zašto nas ne cijene? Zašto ne vide da im želimo i možemo pomoći?
Odgovori na ova pitanja nisu ugodni, ali prije svega nam je potrebno malo iskrenosti kako bismo došli do srži problema. Jer predugo krivimo jedni druge za probleme u našem odnosu. A kao i u slučaju mnogih drugih disfunkcionalnih veza, u određenoj su mjeri krive obje strane.

”O zaman ne yapmalı?” dedim kendi kendime ve hemen bir yazı dizisi hazırlamaya karar verdim.
Tabii ki bu yazı dizisinin ilk kahramanının ”Facebook‘‘ olması kaçınılmazdı. Her ne kadar Facebook artık sıkıyor desek de; Facebook kullanıcı sayısı, reklam gelirleri ve mobil istatistikler hala diğer sosyal ağların önünde.

In fact, according to the most recent Total Audience Report, they’re on their phones for more than 14 hours a month for app, audio, video and web purposes. And when it comes to the other things we do with our phones—including talking—the same trend seems to hold true.
For example, Nielsen Mobile Insights has found that the average Hispanic mobile user uses 658 minutes per month on their mobile plan, which is significantly more than the average of 510 minutes per month for all consumers. When broken down by Hispanic subgroups, bilingual Hispanics dominate in terms of minutes used, as they spend more than 762 minutes per month talking on their mobile devices.

Nielsen’s Digital Transition Tracker provides a comprehensive view of the home entertainment category, which includes any paid format used to access TV and movie content at home or on a mobile device, such as DVDs or Blu-ray discs, digital rentals, Pay Per View, or subscription streaming. In the past week, I’ve felt the power of the influence shifting in the social business marketplace. It seems that most brands have figured out that it’s more authentic, genuine, and real to partner with an influencer than to run more social media advertising. I’ve literally had 4 different brands reach out to partner on Twitter & Instagram with content, and they want me to feel rewarded for sharing their awesome content. It’s a new strategy to really deliver to the social media audiences based on the niche of the influencer. Also a term you might start to hear more is “micro-celebrity”, these are folks that have a following that is smaller than 100K on any platform. We all want to partner with Taylor Swift but to keep it real, not many brands can afford the endorsement with such a superstar. So the alternative is to work with 5-10 micro-celebrities that are all focused in a niche that serve your CUSTOMERS!
