Thank you so much for your brilliant support in assisting me in resolving
my chronic low back pain.
In 2 weeks I will be celebrating my 67th birthday, and for the past 46 years
I was unsuccessfully dealing with daily moderate to severe low back pain.
X-rays revealed stenosis in my lumbar vertebra and a level 2 spondylothesis at L 5.
The orthopaedists for the NBA Houston Rockets, one of my clients at the time,
dejectedly told me “that looks pretty bad, there’s not much of anything you can do

I certainly was not willing for that to be the final word in the matter. However, no matter
what therapies I tried, I could never experience any more than a little or at best
temporary improvement.

In just the few sessions we were able to have together I have sustained over 50%

I have very much enjoyed taking individual classes of Pilates and Gyrotonic with Judy
Herbert.
The classes were tailored to my needs and possibilities and changed as my needs
changed. Every care was taken by Judy to make sure I was comfortable and able to
do the exercises, which would improve posture and strength as well as keep muscles
and bones active to avoid arthritis and osteoarthritis from progressing, in as much as
possible.
Judy was always understanding and very careful with movements and personal
moods, which is so important.

During over a year I was privileged to work on my body with Judy Herbert through
Gyrokinesis. Having posture problems and a marked lumbar lordosis, she showed me
how to improve my posture and work on all my abdominal, pelvic and dorsal muscles
to improve these conditions. We worked on a one to one basis and not only did I
effectively become aware of where I had to correct posture but also managed to avoid
pain by using my muscles properly. This was a process I enjoyed thoroughly and with
the help of very dedicated work on Judy’s part have overcome my discomfort, stand
straight and in general free very elongated and flexible.
I can strongly recommend working with Judy. I am 58 and soon to retire and must
share this with other women in my age group who very often do not become aware of

with Judy Herbert when I was training to be a Pilates instructor in 2008. I consider
