Madeleine has been known to me for many years, both as a colleague and subordinate during my
tenure at Eskom as Maintenance, Project and Executive Managers.
The last position that Madeleine filled while reporting to me was as Acting Procurement Manager, a
position I would have gladly promoted her into had the organization not frozen all promotions and
recruitment at the time. She was involved throughout the entire process from planning of contracts,
adjudication, assessment, placement, modifications, monitoring and management, extensions and
close out – often assisting end users with guidance as a result of her knowledge.
Madeleine has an extremely high work ethic, is very loyal to whoever she reports to and the company
for which she works, is easy to get along with and a pleasure to work with, self-motivated, of high
integrity, calm under pressure, shows initiative and is a self-starter, reliable, and her colleagues can
depend on her.
Project contracts that Madeleine was involved in exceeded R1billion in value. Her work was always
up to date with her asking if she could assist in other areas, her work was always of very high quality,
something of which she was always proud. Madeleine showed great team spirit in getting involved in
assisting other departments in areas that her responsibilities integrated with in order to benefit the
project as a whole.
