It is with great pleasure that I write this letter in support of Steven Lapointe for his
involvement with the 2011 IIHF Buffalo World Juniors.
I had the pleasure of meeting Steven in December of 2010 when he signed up
through Brock University to be a volunteer for the Niagara Sport Commission (NSC).
Steven was one of approximately 40 Brock University students selected to represent the
NSC at the 2011 IIHF Buffalo World Juniors. Under the supervision of one of my staff
members, Steven was to act as an Information Services Representative for the duration of
the tournament. Steven immediately became one of our key volunteers at the tournament
as his dedication and work ethic became evident to us as he constantly took the initiative
to accomplish tasks without our instruction.
Throughout the tournament, I received nothing but excellent reviews of Steven’s
professionalism, and his positive attitude. Steven excelled in a customer service role, as
he always went the extra step to ensure that the guests in Buffalo were satisfied and had
all of their questions answered. His knowledge of the French language was an excellent
skill that he utilized as some French-Canadians visited Buffalo for the tournament.
Without Steven, we would not have been able to communicate our messages to them as
effectively.
I would recommend Steven to any prospective employer, as I truly believe he
would be a valuable member to your team. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you
