We at Global Expert Systems, the hosts of the Caribbean Work Life Balance Trade Show 2013, support volunteerism. Here are a few small acts that we can think of.
1. Offer to help a senior citizen in your neighborhood who is less able.
2. Mentor a young child preparing for exams.
3. Practice random acts of kindness:
a. Offer someone a ride
b. Help keep the neighborhood tidy
c. Prepare a meal
d. Donate all the “things” and “clothes” you no longer use
e. Give away the extra fruits from your fruit tree
Remember there’s always someone less fortunate that you are.

There is significant increase in solid waste generation over the last decade in Jamaica; this is largely as a result of population growth and to an extent economic growth within the country. The per capita municipal solid waste generation is approximately 1 kg across the island. Municipal solid waste generation on the island has increased from 240,748 tons in 2011 to 290,501 tons in 2012. This can be ascribed to changing lifestyles, food habits and change in living standards.

The Ironbound Community Corporation invited the APA-NJ CPAP program to support their effrots to create a South Ironbound Resiliency Plan. The plan was developed for a portion of the Ironbound community called South Iranbound. The area includes residential, commercial, and industrial properties, and suffers from an array of issues that have been identified by the community.

More than 600 residents turn out to clean up Truckee Meadows
RENO, NV (May 2, 2015) – More than 600 Washoe County residents
came out Saturday to clean up illegal dumpsites and invasive weeds
at 18 sites during KTMB’s Great Community Cleanup. Volunteers
removed 74 tons of trash, 33 tons of invasive weeds and almost 600
tires for a cleanup total of 123 tons. Volunteers also removed graffiti,
painted and wrapped trees.
“We had perfect weather this year,” said Jaime Souza, program
manager of Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB). “Our
volunteers pulled and dug a record number of invasive weeds –
great news in this dry year.”
Those weeds will be composted for the first time this year, and next
week – during International Compost Awareness Week, KTMB staff will
be collecting compost and delivering it to schools and other area
garden projects. This addition to KTMB’s Great Community Cleanup is
made possible by a Think Green grant through Waste Management
and a partnership with RT Donovan.
And another record was set this year: The Nevada National Guard removed 18 abandoned cars from the Hunter and Alum creek areas.
“The number of cars just kept increasing,” Souza said. “We started with 15, were up to 17 this morning, and then the helicopter crews found
