Stephen Notes was recently laid off from his job managing ticket operations for 3-4 theaters at once, a role he had held for 15 years. He is known by friends as a dedicated, calm presence who is always ready to help and creates constantly without needing breaks. At her retirement, Joy Zinoman praised Stephen's annual reviews, showing the high regard he was held in at work. Friends know Stephen will find new opportunities and he is always available to help others as well.

1. I was sad to hear that my friend, Stephen Notes was laid off from his job yesterday. For those
of us who know Stephen, we know that he is a dedicated friend who is always ready to be
there when you need him. Professionally, he managed a busy ticket operation that grew to 3,
sometimes 4 working theatres at once (yeah...think about THAT for a minute!). I’ve known him
for 15 years and have never seen him lose his temper.
He is always, ALWAYS creating. I’m not certain he gets the lazy fits the rest of us do.
One of my favorite memories of Stephen is listening to Joy Zinoman at her retirement speech.
I don’t know if you remember, Stephen,but Joy said that (paraphrasing) one of the things she
always looked forward to & would miss was your annual review. High praise, no? :) So keep
that, and the love and support of your many friends in mind as you embrace the new, exciting
opportunities that you will find.
If any of you out there need someone to help drive the bus, Stephen is your man. I am not
certain how he managed to keep the whole machine running,but it spun like a top and I’m not
certain anything could make the man blink. And, he’ll make you laugh, if you let him.
