Roadrunners are fast desert birds with feather-covered bodies and sharp claws. Their legs are rough and light, allowing them to eat bugs, lizards, worms and mice in the desert bushes where they live. With thin, colorful bodies nearly half the length of their long tail, roadrunners stay warm through their ability to generate heat wherever they are.
