Reading Pictures Reading pictures accurately is an important skill for pupils to develop. It helps them to interpret images and correct their assumptions on the basis of new information. In this activity an image/object of interest is gradually revealed. (keeping the most interesting features to the end. The activity encourages pupils to focus in on detail, to look for contextual clues, to use their prior learning and connect ideas in order to ‘guess’ what the picture is about.
