Rudolf Diesel was a German engineer born in 1858 who invented the diesel engine. He had a desire to become an engineer from a young age. In 1880 he became a mechanical engineer. His main invention was the diesel engine, which was the first engine that worked without spark ignition, including an early version that ran on peanut oil. In 1895, Diesel had created a working diesel engine and was continuing to improve it. However, his sudden death in 1913 at sea was mysterious and his body was too decomposed to identify when it was found.
