It details how local Rotary clubs distributed urgent relief supplies like food, water, shelter and clothing to over 500 families affected by Typhoon Parma in the Philippines. It also discusses how Rotary clubs partnered with other organizations to provide tents, blankets and emergency response kits containing necessities to victims of an earthquake in Indonesia and tsunami in the Samoan Islands. The summary highlights Rotary's work at the grassroots level through local clubs to immediately aid disaster victims and support long-term recovery efforts.
The Rotary International theme for 2009-2010 focused on strengthening communities through service. The Rotary Club of Makati San Lorenzo had a busy week starting with a job training program called "Gunting Para sa Kabuhayan" to help people start careers in hair grooming. They also established a Rotary Community Corps in Antipolo to assist with ongoing service projects. Additionally, club members traveled to Batangas to support the "Kapit Bisig sa Ilog Pasig" project and interacted with community members living along the Pasig River.
The document provides information about becoming a member of Rotary International. It describes Rotary as a global network of over 32,000 local clubs and 1.2 million members worldwide. It outlines the qualifications for membership, which include holding a professional position and demonstrating commitment to service. It explains that individuals must be sponsored by an existing member and approved by the local club's membership committee. Responsibilities of members include regular meeting attendance, paying annual dues, and participating in club activities and projects.
The document lists Rotary clubs that have achieved 100% Paul Harris Fellow status as of March 30, 2009. It includes the district, club, country, and date certified for each club. There are over 200 clubs listed from countries around the world, demonstrating the global reach of Rotary's philanthropic goals.
This is the presentation that Pres. Jing Sarao (RY2009-2010) presented during the Team Visit. It contains our club's plans and programs for the term of Pres. Jing.
