1. My impressionof the tribe inthe jungle isthatitwouldbe a veryhard wayof life.Theyhave
to put upwiththe weather,havingtofindfood,dangerousanimals,andmanyotherproblems.
It seemslike theyare justtryingtosurvive.Theyhave almostnocontactwiththe outside world
otherthan the man inthe video. My impressionof JescoWhite’sculture isthathe doesn’tcare
aboutanythingbutdancingand Elvis.The wayhe livesseemsreallydirty.Hishouse,clothes,
and car are all dirty.He talksaboutkillinghiswifealotof times.
2. The culture of the tribe didn’trespectwomen.Itsaidtheybeatthemandrapedthemall the
time. Theywere aprettyviolenttribe andtheyfoughteachothera lot.Whentheyfoughtthey
woulddochestpoundingcontests.Theyweren’tveryreligiousbuttheystill hadsome religion.
Theywoulddoa hallucinogentohave theirreligiousexperience.JescoWhite’sculture was
similartothe tribesbecause he didn’trespectwomeneither.He talkedaboutcuttinghiswife’s
throat formaking“sloppy,slimyeggs”,andhe threatenedtoblow herbrainsoutwitha
shotgun.Jescolikestohave funa lot.He andhisfriendsandfamilygottogethermultiple times
perweektohave a party at hishouse where theygotdrunkanddrove around inthe mud.
3. The tribe’slivesare completely differentfrommine. Idon’thave tohunt formy food,I live in
a house,I wearclothes,andprettymucheverythingelse abouttheirculture isdifferentfrom
mine.JescoWhite’sculture hassome similaritiestomine.We bothlive inWestVirginia.Ilive
rightby the woodsand he livesinthe woods.Igettogetherwithmyfamilyalot andso doeshe.
There are a lotof differencesinourculturestoo.Iwouldneverthreatentokill somebodyover
makingbadeggs.I also don’ttap dance,listentoElvis,ordrive aroundinthe mud.
4. These twoculturesare somewhatsimilar.Theybothliveinthe woods, theybothhunt,and
theybothdon’treallycare about movingupinthe world. Bothculturesare prettyisolatedwith
the tribe livinginthe jungle inVenezuelaandJescoWhite livingoutinthe woodsof Boone
County.Bothof themseemtopreferbeingisolatedthough.Theycouldmove closertomore
people if theywantedbuttheydon’t.
5. I thinkthese cultureswerecreated bysome peopleleavingnormal civilizationandmoving
out to the foresttodo theirownthing.They’ve probablybeendoingthe same thingfor
generations.The people don’tknow anyotherlifesotheylike itwhere theyare anddon’twant
to do anythingelse.
2. 6. To integrate these culture intoourswouldbe ahuge challenge.These peopledon’twantto
live like normal peopleandnormal people don’twanttolive like them.Idon’tthinkthat’sreally
a bad thingbecause everybodyshouldlive how theywantaslongas they’re nothurting
anything.If we integratedtheseculturesthere wouldbe alotof problemswithpeople
disagreeingonmanydifferentthings.
