3. • Raees is an Action crime thriller film directed by Rahul
Dholakia under the Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel
Entertainment Production. Shah Rukh Khan is playing a
role of the gangster as a Raees with his co-star Mahira
Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
• This movie is based on a criminal Abdul Latif’s life,
though the filmmakers denying this and saying “This
movie is not based on any person; living or dead, it’s a
pure work of fiction.”

4. • The shooting of the film was starting in April 2015 and it
has been shot in Mumbai and sets were redesigned to
represent the Ahmedabad Slums. Without being affected
by any protest, the film was shot in Bhuj between
January and February 2016.
• Raees was supposed to be release on EID, July 2016,
but it was postponed to avoid box office competition with
Salman Khan’s Sultan. Raees was then rescheduled for
26 January 2017 on India’s Republic Day, which clashed
with the Hrithik Roshan film Kaabil, but then both the
films were moved to 25th January 2017.

6. • In March 2016, a legal notice was sent by an alleged gangster,
Mustak, Abdul lafis’s son, asking how or why a film is being
made on his father’s life. Later he filed a report in Ahmedabad
court against Shah Rukh Khan and demanded Rs 101 Crore.
• In 2016, after Uri terror attack, the Indian Motion picture
producers Association and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena
banned films featuring Pakistani actors. Mahira Khan is
Pakistani actor so raees was on their list. Maharashtra
Navnirman Sena put forward a condition to lift up the ban;
Producers have to give Rs 5 crore as penance to the Indian
army welfare fund and producers shall never cast Pakistani
artistes in future but Indian Army refused to accept the fund by
saying sacrifices should not be politicised. Later, a ban was
lifted without any condition on Raees.

7. • Three days before the release of the film, BJP’s National
General Secretary, termed Raees as “Dishonest” and
“anti-national” film, while termed Kaabil as “Patriotic” film,
and said earlier in 2015 that Shah Rukh Khan is a
defector and he also didn’t react to 1193 Bombay
Bombings and 2008 Mumbai Attacks.
• Shah Rukh Khan promoted Raees on various shows in
The Kapil Sharma Show and in Big Boss 10 and it was
also promoted in Dubai. In August 23-24 January 2017,
Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Leone took a special train
ride on Kranti Rajdhani Express from Mumbai to Delhi for
promotions, but fan of Shah Rukh Khan, Farid khan
Sherani, also a member of Samajwadi Party died in a
hospital due to stampede on Vadodara Railway platform
when the train was leaving the station after the long half
from the promotion in front of huge crowd, many were
injured too. Shah Rukh Khan later consoled for his fan’s
death.

8. • Raees started pre-booking before the release of the
movie. Music was composed by Ram Sampath and the
song Zaalima by Singer Arijit Singh “Zaalima” got 40
million views on youtube.

10. • Kaabil is a fiction drama which is directed by Sanjay
Gupta, written by Vijay Kumar Mishra, produced by
Rakesh Roshan under his banner Filmkraft Productions.
Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam is playing a role of
blind person.
• On 25th January 2017, Kaabil is scheduled for a
worldwide release along with its Tamil and Telugu duubed
versions.
• Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy played a negative role in the
film. Kaabil’s music is composed by Rajesh Roshan and
Salim – Suleman giving the background music for the
film Resul Pookuuty designed the sound of film, while
Rakesh Roshan is producing the project and Sudeep
Chatterjee and Ayananka Bose done the

11. • The film shooting was completed in 77 days. First look of
Kaabil was released in October 2016 and movie released
along with Raees.
• Shah Rukh Khan said in an interview that clashing of the
films does not affect his friendship with Hrithik Roshan.
