Johnson and Johnson (J&J) is an American multinational company that develops medical devices, pharmaceutical drugs and consumer products. J&J is one of the largest medical device companies in the world. There are various subsidiaries of J&J, however the medical device business of J&J includes 3 global franchises; mainly Ethicon (surgical), Bio-sense Webster (Cardiovascular & Speciality solutions) and Depuy Synthes (Orthopaedics). J&J has a presence in over 100 countries worldwide and the medical device companies manufactures and does R&D on various different kinds of surgical devices, implants that are used by doctors in laparoscopic surgeries.
Current project that I will be working on is named as Project RoadRunner by the project team. The project is to develop a new medical device implant for China market. RAD has a family of patents which are filed worldwide and covers a variety of specialty features.
RAD has worked in the UK, Canada, Mexico, and the US. Most clients are government-sponsored social medicine, university medical systems or regional healthcare providers.
Since the RAD technology is modular and recoverable, it can be treated as tangible, personal property facilitating the leasing or rental of our services off balance sheet.
The advisory board did an independent white paper on the availability of mobile and relocatable cancer facilities and deemed RAD technology as the only provable system in the market.
The UCSD facility includes two vaults along with a PET CT. The over 16,000 sq ft of space provides all the features a university medical system requires for both therapy and research.
While the foundation was being put in place along with utilities, RAD produces the clinic and vaults at one of its manufacturing facilities.
This photograph clearly illustrates the two empty vessels on each side of the therapy room along with the steel plates being placed in the walls to provide extra shielding at the primary beam locations.
The second story of the vault is placed to complete the shielding process to protect the general public and inhabitance of adjacent multi-story buildings.
The two openings at the back of the vault, represent the removable core feature, where the client can exchange its equipment at some future date.
The lobby included terrazzo floors and maple millwork, all provided through the modular construction process.
The therapy room is completed along with installation of the varian accelerator.
The completed facility is complimentary to the surrounding campus buildings.
