- My poster and review advertised my film well. The poster included the release date, slogan, and a dark colour scheme to create an eerie effect. Another way the mystery of the film was shown was the half hidden face; this not only created mystery but also included the main character and a false celebrity endorsement, which was supported by the movie review.
- My movie review had screenshots, a review from box office, a five star rating and a “film of the month” page title. This advertised my film to be a hit in the cinemas, which would make it more popular.
- My film, poster and review were all well co ordinated. One way this was shown was the use of the main character Zoey Smith. She was used on all products; film as an actress, poster as a celebrity endorsement and an action shot as the background in my movie review. Another way that all the products are linked is the use of forest mise-en-scene. In my poster the leaves on the left hand side showed this. This mise-en-scene was continued in my review with the background image of the main character Zoey Smith running through the forest. With each product came a dark colour scheme. This co-ordinated well with the forest mise-en-scene. I used white, dark green and dark grey. These colours worked well with both the images and genre of film as well as linking the product and ancillary texts together. The text on each product was either a white, a dark grey or green to stand out from the dark background on each product. By having the titles on each ancillary text as a white they easily connect even though they are displayed in different fonts. The release date on each of my products is different as the movie review was in the past tense, reviewing the film after its December 2014 release
- I think my products aim to my target audience well. By using teenagers as my actresses the audience can relate to them due to the age similarity, whether they fit the typical middle class teenage girl or not. These actors were Danielle Peterson aged 18 and Abigayle Wells aged 17.
- Another way my products can link with the target audience would be the age rating of 18. My target audience is students from the age of 18 and above, shown on both my poster and movie review. Another way would be my slogan on the poster. By having a slogan that instantly creates mystery it attracts those who are interested in watching a film, which makes them think. My movie review also connects with my audience by referring to them as “movie buffs”. This shows my target audience would appreciate all the conventions of my films, such as the disappearing shot.
- Over all the combination of my film, movie review and poster add mystery and tension for the audience. I would also say they co ordinate well together through mise-en-scene, colour scheme, use of stereotypes and other key conventions.
