This teacher handbook provides guidance on having students participate in the Quest2Matter program to share their ideas for solving problems. It instructs teachers to ask students what matters to them, what about it breaks their heart, and how they could change that. Students then develop an idea and action plan to solve the problem and document their submission. Teachers are encouraged to have students submit their work through the Choose2Matter website or partners to inspire others and potentially have their quest highlighted or be honored for their efforts in changing the world.

• The Quest2Matter invites students to share their
ideas for solving problems that break their hearts.

4. How to join the Quest2Matter
What matters to you? What about it breaks

How can we change
that?
• Ask your students these three questions:

5. • Next, your students develop an idea for solving
the problem.
• They then develop a feasible action plan to solve
the problem, and/or take steps to solve it.
• Next, they document their idea or actions. This
could be a writing, a video, a photo, or any other
media that captures their idea or actions.

6. Next, submit have your students submit their
document so we may share it with the world.
We’ll store it in a searchable database to
inspire future students.
