Abu Dhabi is ramping up to transform 57,689 villas into green and sustainable buildings.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the scaling and acceleration after
he saw the process and mass collaboration model that Queen of Green developed to
shift Abu Dhabi and UAE from Policy into practice.
The Queen of Green 14 step process is beyond all current international standards and
targets. Gill Wallace Hope, Founding Director of Queen of Green has worked for UAE
since 2007 from Capitol Hill, Washington DC where she studied the Energy, Health, and
Food Security challenges in UAE. In 29 months she and her international team have
listened to all the myths, excuses, challenges, and overcome huge obstacles to launch
the first mass collaboration program in UAE.
Hope has re-wired the UAE resources into a network and connected global policies from
the UN and Washington DC, green technology inventors and manufacturers from all
around the world with local women and youth who will drive the transformation from the
grassroots.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the first ruler to remove all UAE
government paperwork processes which cause long delays, increase costs and
demotivate the participants. Villa owners and landlords will register their Villa for a
Queen of Green makeover from their mobile phones.
Developers, landlords and employers are excited about reducing their energy costs by
85%, reducing waste, meeting their CSR targets, becoming more sustainable and telling
a new story to their tenants.
One Emerati landlord has ordered 100 Villas to receive a Queen of Green makeover. A
property developer wants Queen of Green to makeover 1200 Villas so they can attract
and retain new tenants and a contracting company has made 300 men available for an
immediate start.
Abu Dhabi is the first Emirate to make real-time decisions to improve energy, health,
food and environmental security.
2. Hope says “Unconditional faith to bring 21st century development into alignment with the
environmental teachings in the Holy Quran is what drives my leadership. Sheikh Zayed
bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of UAE, had a vision of balancing development and
nature founded now all citizens and residents have the opportunity to collaborate...to
make everyone’s home paradise on earth.”
Queen of Green is a global network of green stakeholders from 29 diverse sectors who
share a common goal of transforming their world.
Ambassador Hope has developed a Social Investment Portfolio of 14 programs to
empower the poor in 70+ countries. She passionately believes in empowering the talent
and skills of the poorest of the poor to become green and sustainable. By integrating the
development process to ensure energy, food, and health security is combined with
education and micro-enterprises for economic security it is possible to mobilize millions
of citizens to be the change they want to see in the world.
