Une étude a mesuré, auprès de professionnels de santé anglais, leur perception du temps perdu à rechercher des informations cliniques (1). Pour les soignants interrogés, environ un document médical sur quatre n’est pas disponible quand ce serait nécessaire ou se trouve incomplet. Comment réagissent-ils alors ? Dans un cas sur trois, ils partent à la recherche de l’information manquante. Les autres réponses dépendent bien sûr du caractère critique attribué à l’information concernée. Dans 12% des cas, par exemple, les professionnels demandent la réalisation de nouveaux examens. Résultat, tous types de soignants confondus : 52 mn par jour seraient passés à traquer une information, la proportion étant plus élevée pour ce qui concerne les médecins (près de 70 mn) et les infirmiers (61 mn). Cette perte de temps a bien sûr un impact sur la qualité de prise en charge, qui peut alors se trouver interrompue, comme le notent les auteurs de l’étude. Elle joue aussi sur la durée du rendez-vous de consultation, la durée de séjour du patient, sans oublier la satisfaction des professionnels de santé comme des patients. Elle a également un coût : celui par exemple de la perte de productivité et de la duplication, le cas échéant, des examens. L’étude s’essaie à valoriser le temps perdu par an par médecin et l’estime à 19 500 £(28 000 euros). L’information est en effet au cœur du processus clinique. Les professionnels interrogés estiment qu’elle compte pour 50% de leur activité, qu’il s’agisse de prendre connaissance des dossiers médicaux ou de les alimenter. Selon l’étude, le temps passé par un médecin à documenter ses dossiers atteint 10 à 11h par semaine. Cet éclairage est important, soulignent les commanditaires et auteurs de l’étude, « alors que de nouveaux investissements technologiques dans les dossiers médicaux informatisés sont en passe d’être décidés par de nombreux trusts et qu’ils auront des répercussions sur la qualité des soins à l’avenir. » (1) Réalisée par Ignetica à la demande de la société Nuance Communications. Auprès de 197 professionnels, qui travaillent dans 4 trusts du NHS.

This building element is basically operating as the LEGO-principle; any PAREIN plastic (ASB) building element can snap into a second identical element to form a brick with two raised disks. Then without any mortar or whatever, you can go and build, halfway superimposed on each other. In any direction as the extremities of the 'bricks' are round! Being a building brick, only temporarily serving as a closure or cup, PAREIN returns to its initial destination; assembling (by color) to something useful, even gathering towards recycling! The GREEN CAP bringing you all the colors of the rainbow!

wkrm is a student-run, faculty-led design studio housed at the Department of Fine Arts building at the University of Texas at Austin. The studio provides students with the experience of working with clients in a realistic setting and support for their professional development. During the Fall 2023 semester, we worked with Austin Transit Partnership to provide student perspectives on campus mobility that may inform the design and future integration of the forthcoming Light Rail at The University of Texas at Austin. During the Spring 2024 semester, a new cohort of students advanced ideas for improving campus orientation and navigation by designing a pedestrian wayfinding system.
