DEFINITION
Line dance is
choreographed to a
specific music with
repeated number of
sequenced steps
where people dance
in lines and rows.

each sequence.

craze in Philadelphia.
He is called
“The Godfather of Soul Line
Dancing”

Most movements are
performed using the legs and
feet while the advance
versions includes arm and
hands.
HISTORY
Count is the term used
for the movements done
in this dance.
Line dances have accompanied
many popular music styles since
the early 1970s including pop,
swing, rock and roll, disco, salsa
and jazz.
A variety of music may be
used, but the major emphasis
is on country and western
music.
