Pythagoras of Samos (c. 570 – c. 495 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher and the founder of the Pythagoreans. The Pythagorean theorem relates to the sides of a right-angled triangle and is expressed as (length of the hypotenuse)² = (1st side)² + (2nd side)². It is also known simply as the Pythagorean theorem.
