PROBLEM: EUCALYPTUS
LEAVES SHEDDING LOT IN THE
SCHOOL PREMISES
IS THERE ANY CHANCE TO USE
THESE LEAVES INSTEAD OF
THROWING
THINK THINK THINK
WOW! WE GOT AN
IDEA
Eucalyptus is an herb
which is used in
medicines.
COLLECT AND CUT THE EUCALYPTUS
LEAVES
Clip the leaves from your eucalyptus
plant early in the morning, when their
natural oils are at their peak.
Place the eucalyptus leaves in one
of the jars.
Make eucalyptus oil by gathering a bunch
of fresh eucalyptus leaves, extracting
their natural oils and leaving the leaves
soaked in olive oil in the warm sun.
Natural Eucalyptus Oil
Find fresh eucalyptus measure out 1/2 cup (4 oz)
of olive oil. •
Pour the olive oil over the smashed
eucalyptus leaves. Tighten the top of
your jar and give it a good shake, to
combine the leaves and the oil.
Set the jar outside in the sun. If you are
making your oil in the summer, you can
leave it out there for about 2 days. If you
are making the oil during any other
season, when the sun is not as hot, you
should leave it outside for 1 month
Shake the jar every 12 hours. Bring the
jar back inside and open the lid. You
should get a scent of the eucalyptus.
Hold a tea strainer over the empty jar, and
pour the eucalyptus oil into it. The strainer
will catch the eucalyptus leaves, which you
can discard.
Store the eucalyptus oil in a
cool, dry place for up to 6
months. You can use it for a
variety of home remedies.
