Public cultural campaign "Budzma bielarusami!" works for building the identity of Belarusians. The campaign's goal is the development of the Belarusian society on the basis of national values. The most important is respect for Belarusian culture. TANDEM is an exchange programme that assists cultural organisations in developing long-term working relationships, knowledge development and networking opportunities with project partners from Europe and beyond. The aim of the programme is to connect and inspire cultural managers by supporting the sharing of knowledge and experience across geographical and cultural borders. During the programme, two cultural managers from different localities team up to be a ‘tandem’ (as in the bicycle for two). Tandem partners make working visits to each others’ offices and work on an artistic co-production. Throughout the year, the Tandem group meets for networking, workshops and mentoring. At the end of the project there is a final presentation and the opportunity to connect to the growing pan-European Tandem network.
Geographic location of Lublin Region on the borderland of the European Union and its Eastern neighbours, rich and multicultural historical heritage, and competences which local leaders gained through implementation of numerous initiatives with partners from the Eastern Partnership states – these are the three pillars of the activities of the Centre for Eastern Competences. It is a program established about 2 years ago in cooperation between the Municipality of Lublin and Marshal's Office of Lubelskie Voivodeship. The Centre aims to act effective for social, educational, cultural and economic development of Central-Eastern Europe by supporting mutual communication and dialogue. The overall and long-term objective of the Centre is to support the creation of cooperation networks and elimination of obstacles leading to improving the quality of life in Central-Eastern Europe.
In frames of presentation i would like to present few projects related to informal education and socially oriented. It will be project S.M.A.R.R.R.T. - establishing of first interdisciplinary residency in Belarus, project Workshops for Children, and few artistic projects related to social and political aspects.
Europe Grand Central is a groundbreaking cooperation effort that combines grassroots projects by independent culture organizations across Europe and beyond through a unique digital and conceptual platform to connect audience created narratives about the human act of crossing borders. Partners of the project, all solid culture operators and networks, work on vastly varied topics such as rising xenophobia towards refugees in Sweden, personal consequences of mounting economic crisis in Greece, disconnected suburbs and city-dwellers in Bologna and Bremen, political tension towards the eastern borderlands of Poland, and skewed notions of the Arab world in Europe. The methods for audience inclusion to challenge sentiments of “us” and “them” vary across interactive theatre and photography, craft, design, workshops, street art, and artistic residencies. Europe Grand Central is the space for learning across contexts and to develop methods to meet our audiences where they are. Central to the project is the Bordr digital tool for connection of border stories that will be used in and across all projects. The partners will also co-design our action-sharing database EuropeGrandCentral.net hosted by Trans Europe Halles, the main network of independent European culture centres, which serve as our communication, dissemination, and legacy partner. Over two years we will have four project meetings, and in 2017 we will coordinate “Europe Grand Central” an all-European simultaneous show of local-global presentations and the main event of the project. We will carefully analyse and spread our lessons with help of our associated research and dissemination partners; world leading universities and public institutions. At the heart of everything we do we share a desire to understand and share the connections of human experiences and to mobilize these stories into action that changes lives. We work to produce an inclusive statement of diversity with potential to start a global movement of connected human values.
Congress of Cultural Activists was established as a civil society organisation in 2014 by a team of like-minded people – culture activists. Cultural diplomacy between the Ukrainian regionsPetro Nek
“Cultural diplomacy between the Ukrainian regions” is Ukrainian crisis Media Center program, aimed to create a dialogue and reconciliation between the residents of East and West through the instruments of culture. The purpose of the initiative is to attract public attention to the cultural and humanitarian problems and engage citizens in finding solutions and forming a long-term humanitarian policy.
The SPACES project (2012-2014) was a three-year attempt to link the new artistic (and activist) initiatives in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, which had as its aim strengthening the independent cultural actors and supporting their work through the implementation of a number of context specific projects in the urban (public) space. A great deal of their activities has been related to the recent urban struggles against the appropriation of what used to be a common space by the private capital, very often in conjunction with the city or state neo-liberal policies. In parallel with the SPACES project and in loose relation to it, in 2013 another long term project was launched by the Croatian partner; the project entitled MOTEL TROGIR is basically a civic campaign for the protection of the mid 20th century modern architecture (the architecture of the Socialist Modernism) focusing on the concrete site on the Adriatic coast- a deteriorated MOTEL TROGIR designed in 1965 by the renown architect Ivo Vitić. In the beginning of 2013, a group of citizens gathered around Slobodne veze/Loose Associations platform started the campaign for the formal protection of the Motel as part of the architectural heritage. Wide international support and a significant media echo, along with numerous activities in the course of the campaign, led to the inscription of the Motel in the Registry of Protected Cultural Goods by the Ministry of Culture of Croatia. Since than Slobodne veze/Loose Associations have performed various activities: public debates, the publication- gathering experiences from the civic campaign for the modern(ist)heritage protection, artistic projects and interventions engaging local and international artists, international exchange.
