‫حدود‬105‫کیلومتر‬‫کاهش‬‫می‬‫بابد‬.‫بنابراین‬‫با‬‫ساخت‬‫این‬‫آزادراه‬‫فاصله‬‫تهران‬‫تا‬‫بندر‬‫امام‬‫حدود‬60‫کیلومتر‬‫کوتاهتر‬
‫خواهد‬‫شد‬.‫احداث‬‫آزادراه‬‫خرم‬‫آباد‬–‫پل‬‫زال‬‫تاثیر‬‫بسزایی‬‫در‬‫بهره‬‫برداری‬‫از‬‫ظرفیت‬‫کامل‬‫بندر‬‫امام‬‫که‬
‫بزرگترین‬‫بندر‬‫ایران‬‫در‬‫شمال‬‫خلیج‬‫فارس‬‫به‬‫حساب‬‫می‬‫آید‬‫و‬‫توسعه‬‫آتی‬‫آن‬‫دارد‬.
General:
Khorramabad pole zal Freeway is part of Tehran - Bandar Imam Axis. Khorramabad
is located within 500 km Southwest of Tehran.
Distance from Tehran to Bandar Imam is about 970 km inclusive of 805 km
freeway and highway built or under construction. The remaining two-lane road is
Khorramabad pole zal with length about 165 km.
After the construction, the length has been reduced to 105 km. Therefore with
construction of this freeway, distance from Tehran to Bandar Imam will be reduced
about 60 km.
Khoramabad pole zal freeway construction has a significant impact on the operation
of the full capacity of the Bandar Imam as the largest Iranian harbor of the North
Persian Gulf and its future development.
Features of Freeway and Existing Road:
Distance of the beginning of the freeway route to khoramabad 20 Km
Distance from the end of the freeway route to the city of Andimeshk 60 Km
Freeway height from the sea level 1200 m
This freeway passes through the hard Zagros region and is like the chord of the semi
circular of the existing road.
By constructing this freeway, the travel time of 2.5 hours for light vehicles and 5 hours
for heavy vehicles in the existing road is reduced to less than half.
The length of the existing road is 165 Km which is a very difficult route to pass and is one
of the North to South bottlenecks connections.

In addition to the ease of traffic and reduction of the length of the route and travel time at Tehran-Bandar Imam axis,
and axis completion of Bandar Imam-Tehran-Bandar Anzali and Tehran-Tabriz-Bazargan, the following connection

*Investment and investment Return Method
Khoram abad – pole zal freeway is constructed with participation of the Ministry of Road and Transportation and the
construction, maintenance and operation company of khoramabad-pole zal freeway as a 50-50 share.
Investment and profit of participation will be amortized for about 25 years during the operation period through the
collection of toll from the vehicle passing through.
Considering that during the return on investment period, the freeway maintenance is the responsibility of the participating
company, there will be a significant savings..
*Calculations Related to the Investment
Khoram abad – pole zal freeway project started from the December 2005 and taking into account the time of 58 months
for the electrical installation of tunnels , the project continued to October of 2010 and is been in operation since
November of 2010.

In implementation of construction regulation in the Civil projects of road and transportation section, through participation of banks
and other financial and monetary resources of the country approved by parliament dated (1366/8/24)[1987] and implementation of the
Article 12, 35 of the mentioned implementation regulation, the ministry of road and transportation is allowed to entrust financial
resources, project implementation and civil projects of road and transportation sector, to company of companies established for this
purpose in cooperation with national bank’s, companies’, institution’s or individuals or in accordance to the constitution and
regulation from other national financial and monetary resources.
The ministry of road and transportation is required to provide the appropriate company with operational resources until the
depreciation of the project cost or maintaining the government’s ownership for the specified amount of time approved by the Board of
ministry in return of the project investment and the project subject for this regulation.

One of the reasons for the successful implementation of this project, is the timely supply of the required
financial resources by the Employer and the Partner Company.
• The full allocation of annual credits and granting the license for the sale of Bonds by Deputy
of planning and strategic supervision of the president’s [the former management and planning
organization]
• For the project by ministry of road and the Department of construction and development of
transportation infrastructure of the country, is the evidence to this.
Quality is the most important indicator in the success of the construction projects. “Sufficient Project
