Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is facing difficulties after 200 mostly female crew members resigned following the MH17 and MH370 tragedies. According to Maseu secretary-general Abdul Malek Ariff, there are currently only about 3,000 cabin crew members. While resignations spiked after MH17, the numbers have now decreased to routine levels. Crew members cited family pressure and fear of flying for leaving. MAS is working to rebuild confidence by providing medical and emotional support for crew members and organizing special prayers. However, due to the acute staff shortage, the management has rejected applications for early retirement from staff.

Federalism state building in somalia and people’s state ownership.Mohamed Aden Farah
Since 1991 up to 2002 several peace reconciliations between Somalia politician functions had failed to agree, due to clan mistrust based on power abuse of the previous centralized governments of Somalia, even though some parts of Somalia separately had established regional administrations that implemented functional authorities like Somaliland and Puntland after central government collapsed. The International community has played a great role the mediation to reconcile between Somalis to re-establish a functional government of Somalia, though the most attempts have failed including humanitarian intervention in 1992 lead by the United States of America, except the current federalism that adopted in Kenya; 2004.
After so many attempts had failed, in 2002 Eldoret and Mbaghati peace reconciliation in Kenya, the international community, particularly IGAD countries have supported Somali political groups. Somalia civil society delegates and Somalia traditional elders had agreed to change the type of government system in Somalia by chosen from a unitary to the federal political system and adopted a transitional federal charter as a solution to Somalia disputes.
The objective of this study is to investigate whether federalism may create Somalia people’s state ownership which would take part peacebuilding and state-building of Somalia.
The research has addressed in qualitative data collection, and the detailed study designs In-depth interviews so as to explore for more details and a semi-structured interview. To unite accurate primary data of a study that conducted through the interviewees of Somalia government officer’s elders, students, intellectuals, and diaspora, who have knowledge to the subject. To find out what these groups are thinking about Somalia's peace building and governance structure. The study has largely depended on primary sources, as well as secondary sources.
The thesis makes plainly obvious factors that initiated the adoption of federalism in Somalia, which enable the community political participation and the people’s state ownership, federalism may be a contribution to Somalia political stabilization, good governance, and democratization. But there are still challenges that may create negative aspects for federalism to be a solution for Somalia, due to lack of commitment of excellent leadership to the political stabilization in Somalia, because of selfishness and lack of political long term vision.

Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is going through some difficult times after some 200 crew
members who are mostly female have resigned after experiencing the double airline tragedies
involving MH17 and MH370. According to Malaysia Airlines System Employees Union
(Maseu) secretary-general Abdul Malek Ariff, they were down to only about 3,000 cabin crew
members currently. Following the MH17 incident, there was a spike in crew resignations, but
the number has now decreased to routinely expected levels. One of the reasons cited for
leaving was family pressure apart from developing fear of flying.
In current situation, many of the staff have to work up to 12 hours daily – eight hours
compulsory and four hours overtime. Recruitment for new staff has been very slow and it has
to depend on its existing crew to keep flying. Many of the crew members have opted for early
retirement which is an alternative offered under the Collective Agreement. However, due to
the acute shortage of crew members, the management has rejected such applications.
MAS is working hard to rebuild confidence and hopes that it can encourage the entry of
more new staff. Medical centres have been set up to provide treatment plus engaging Mercy
Malaysia to provide emotional support to all its crew members. In addition, special prayers
have been organised as spiritual support for staff. Furthermore, work schedules for all crew
members are planned within the confines of the regulations and the legal flight time
limitations.

Cyberbullying is the act of tormenting someone online by sending or posting nasty
messages using electronic technology. It can be devices and equipment such as cell phones,
computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media sites, text
messages, chat, and websites. Sending mean text messages or emails, rumours sent by
email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or
fake profiles can be considered as a form of Cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying is different from the common physical or verbal type of bullying. Kids
who are being cyberbullied are often bullied in person as well. Furthermore, kids who are
cyberbullied have a harder time getting away from the behaviour. It can happen 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week, and reach a kid even when he or she is alone. It can happen any time of
the day or night and messages and images can be posted anonymously and distributed
quickly to a very wide audience. It can be difficult and sometimes impossible to trace the
source. Deleting inappropriate or harassing messages, texts, and pictures is extremely
difficult after they have been posted or sent.
Cyberbullying has damaging effects on kids such as skipping school, using alcohol and
drugs, drop in their school grades, having low self-esteem and health problems. Electronic
gadgets such as cell phones and computers themselves are not to blame for cyberbullying.
Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter can be used for positive activities, like
connecting kids with friends and family, helping students with school, and for entertainment.
But these tools can also be used to hurt other people.

The giant panda has a black-and-white coat. The giant panda has a body shape typical
of bears. It has black fur on its ears, eye patches, muzzle, legs, arms and shoulders. The
giant panda's thick, woolly coat keeps it warm in the cool forests of its habitat. The giant
panda typically lives around 20 years in the wild and up to 30 years in captivity. The oldest
captive, a female named Ming Ming, had a recorded age of 34.
In the wild, the giant panda is a terrestrial animal and primarily spends its life roaming
and feeding in the bamboo forests of the Qinling Mountains and in the hilly Sichuan Province.
Giant pandas are generally solitary. Pandas communicate through vocalization and scent
marking such as clawing trees or spraying urine.
Though it belongs to the order Carnivora, the panda's diet is over 99% bamboo. The
average giant panda eats as much as 9 to 14 kg (20 to 30 lb) of bamboo shoots a day.
Pandas eat any of 25 bamboo species in the wild, such as Fargesia dracocephala
and Fargesia rufa. Bamboo leaves contain the highest protein levels; stems have less. The
giant panda must have at least two different species available in its range to avoid starvation.
The giant panda is an endangered species, threatened by continued habitat loss and
by a very low birth rate, both in the wild and in captivity. The giant panda has been a target of
poaching by locals since ancient times and by foreigners since it was introduced to the West.

Fast food is fast becoming a staple food for many Malaysians especially among many
young adults and children. Rising number of Malaysians are experiencing highly time-
constrained lifestyles with limited time for dining. Besides, fast food is popular with
consumers because it is more affordable as compared to foods and drinks offered by chained
full-service restaurants, in particular. Fast delivery services and drive-through facilities make it
very convenient for take away food for many on their way to work, during lunch or even on the
way home from work.
Research shows fast foods contain lots of calories, sugar, sodium and unhealthy fats --
substances that increase your risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart
disease. Increased health risks are directly associated with increased consumption of fast
foods. Many individuals in are becoming obese. Another result of fast food culture is the loss
of the family tradition of eating together. Children and adults rarely eat together now, and thus
get less opportunity to talk.
Undoubtedly, it is convenient and cheap, but as parents and educators it is important
to set examples for children to emulate. Parents and educators can be more involved in
increasing awareness regarding the negative effects of fast foods and discourage children
from consuming them. Parents can influence their children’s eating habits through the types
of foods they buy for themselves and their family. The snacks they serve for breakfast, lunch
and dinner also can help to develop a child’s eating habit.
