The Duprees, Terry and Jerry, were former hourly union employees of UPS who were promoted to managerial positions at UPS. After Terry alleged that a senior manager was sexually harassing her, Jerry was fired for violating UPS's fraternization policy regarding relationships between supervisors. Terry also filed a sexual harassment complaint against the same manager but UPS took no action. Both Terry and Jerry were then fired from their managerial positions, despite earlier representations that they would retain job security after being promoted. Oklahoma law recognizes wrongful termination claims for at-will employees if the firing violates public policy.
