Communities can manage risks by providing safer homes, access to water, electricity and sanitation, accessible and affordable schools that teach about risk, and microfinance programs that protect livelihoods and increase business options. Community dialogue allows communities to assess risks together and take collective action through open sharing, learning and decision making.
