1. Introduction to Peradeniya Inventors’ Club
Peradeniya Inventors’ Club is one of the most active clubs in Faculty of Engineering. This club was
formed in with the primary objective of bringing out the innovator inside young engineering minds.
The events of the club carefully selected to enable young inventors to think differently and apply
the knowledge and theories in practice. We firmly believe an engineer should always be a practical
person. This amity of innovative engineers will provide the background to get the essential practical
knowledge and necessary experiences to fortify the engineering career.
Among activities of the Peradeniya activities, the grand event organized by the Inventors’ club is
the ‘INNOVATORS’ competition. The sole intention of this competition is to bring out the innovative
skills of newcomers to the faculty of engineering. The event is carried out for three days with five
different themes. The competitors are given a task and asked to complete it within the time given,
and finally they are evaluated by a panel of judges from the academic staff. Last year’s competition
achieved a high level of success with 300 participants from the first year students.
The members of inventors’ club are looking forward to make it even better, this time which will
surely open path to open up the creative engineering minds.
