President Obama delivered his 2014 State of the Union address to outline national priorities. He began by highlighting some economic successes like increased oil production and reduced deficits. The main goals of the speech were to encourage Congress to help Americans achieve the American Dream by creating jobs, raising the minimum wage, and passing immigration reform. Obama also wanted to continue expanding healthcare access and ensure citizenship rights. While progress had been made, he acknowledged that more work remained and that change would not happen overnight.
Maria White reflects on a video she watched in a psychology class about a discrimination experiment. She is in awe that discrimination still exists in 2014 based on attributes like skin color that do not impact a person's character. The experiment effectively simulated discrimination by having participants treated differently based on arbitrary attributes like eye color. It was moving to see raw emotions from participants when they experienced discrimination and realized they could not easily escape it, as discrimination victims in real life cannot. Maria hopes exposing more people to this experiment may help reduce discrimination, so it does not exist when she raises her own children.

The GlobeFleet Trip Tracking System ensures vehicles visit defined loading and unloading locations on a digital map during trips. It can also detect and report stops outside defined zones. The system transmits location and sensor data from vehicles to a center via GSM/GPRS where it is provided to users over the internet. This allows managers to monitor and report on vehicle speed, location and other details on maps in real-time from anywhere via internet or mobile connections. It benefits fuel, logistics and distribution companies by tracking zone entrances/durations, detecting driver breaks, and ensuring accurate arrival times are reported.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

ABDOMINAL TRAUMA in pediatrics part one.drhasanrajab
Abdominal trauma in pediatrics refers to injuries or damage to the abdominal organs in children. It can occur due to various causes such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports-related injuries, and physical abuse. Children are more vulnerable to abdominal trauma due to their unique anatomical and physiological characteristics. Signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, tenderness, distension, vomiting, and signs of shock. Diagnosis involves physical examination, imaging studies, and laboratory tests. Management depends on the severity and may involve conservative treatment or surgical intervention. Prevention is crucial in reducing the incidence of abdominal trauma in children.
1. The Proper Diet For Diabetes
Diabetes can be a very dangerous disease. It is a disease that is usually referred to as a silent killer, as
its patient rarely show any signs and symptoms related to disease. Yet, the damage is getting severe
inside.
As of now, there's no cure for diabetes just yet. Diabetic people are advised to watch their diet and
maintain an ideal weight so they can manage their disease better. Here are good diet suggestions so
patients suffering from diabetes may stay healthy despite their condition:
1. A daily dose of fruits and vegetables is essential.
Fruits and vegetables play an important role in a diabetic's diet. As much as possible, they should eat
fruits or green leafy vegetables for snacks or along the main meal. Stir-fried or raw vegetables are ideal.
These foods are rich in vitamins and nutrients essential in fighting off bad cholesterol.
2. Starches should be consumed for energy.
A diabetic's diet should include starch so that the patient would have energy to sustain his daily
activities. Bread and cereal are good sources of starch. It is best consumed during breakfast to fuel up
the required energy throughout the day.
3. Avoid sweets and sugary foods.
If you can't help eating sweetened foods, at least do so in moderation. Restrict yourself to eating sugary
food once in a week. You have to reduce sugar intake because being diabetic, your body can't break
down the sugar, as it should.
4. Include soluble fibers in your diet.
Studies have shown that soluble fibers slow down the absorption of glucose in the intestines. Legumes,
kidney beans, and carrots are good choices of food that are high in soluble fibers.
These suggestions should help a lot as far as nutrition is concerned. However, diabetic people should
make it a point to visit their doctor on a regular basis so that their health will be monitored properly.
