Bloemfontein's airport is located approximately 8km east of the city center. The airport site has been identified for mixed-use development in the Mangaung Spatial Development Framework to take advantage of its connections to major roads. The Airports Company of South Africa has rezoned 142 hectares of adjacent land for future expansion and urban development. This will allow a range of land uses including residential, commercial, office and logistics activities to take advantage of the site's accessibility and potential for growth along the N8 corridor between the city and airport.

towardsintimetocome.
The existing airport of Bloemfontein has also been identified
as one of the primary nodes along this corridor in this regard.
The Airports Company South Africa has identified
approximately 142ha of land for future land side expansion.
In the spirit of the Mangaung SDF, this land is presently being
enabled for urban development and has been rezoned under
the category of “Special Use” in terms of the Bloemfontein
