What is it? Scratch is a visual programming environment that allows users to learn computer programming while working on personally meaningful projects such as animated stories and games.
When was it created? Scratch was created in the summer in 2007, but the first stable build was released in July 2, 2009.
Who created it? Scratch was created by Mitchell Resnick, who was a media lab professor.
Where or how is scratch most frequently used? Scratch is most frequently used in schools for 6 to 16 year old kids to easily create programs or games, and to help start them on basic programming. Scratch is also a popular tool for programmers who are just starting and want to learn the basics. Programs written by scratch are usually used in schools, museums, community centers, and homes.
Is scratch a graphical programming language? Yes.
