Formulating a specific, applicable research problem statement is an important step in beginning a research process. The problem statement defines the focus of the research study, dictates what methods and tools will be used, and sets the stage for all subsequent elements of the research process. Because of this, it is necessary to put a great deal of thought into the problem statement to ensure that the rest of the research process will be well planned and appropriate to the problem at hand.
This week’s Discussion asks you to identify evidence-based practice problems that can be addressed using quantitative research methods. Based on the practice problem you select, formulate a quantitative research problem statement. In this Discussion, you are also given the opportunity to evaluate your colleagues’ problem statements. Please refer to this week’s Learning Resources for appropriate and scholarly examples of research problem statements and how they inform the rest of the research process.

Unit Lesson
In Unit V, we addressed how theories and models such as the social cognitive theory, the health behavior
model, and the theory of planned behavior play a role in intervention planning. This unit, we will build on the
foundation of theories and models and look at how to be strategic in determining interventions. The reading
highlights the concerns that health educators should have as it relates to the design and evaluation process to
determine the successfulness of interventions for a given health behavior.
Intervention Strategizing
When a health educator is developing an intervention strategy to help with a particular health behavior, there
are a few key factors to consider: identifying the target population, selecting a setting, setting goals and
objectives, and identifying resources and a timeline. Each of these factors are a concern for health educators
when developing interventions (Powell et al., 2017).
Target population: Who are you planning the intervention for? Are there any special needs? For instance,
adolescents have special needs because they are in school during the day, so an intervention for them would
need to be after school, on the weekend, or through the school. An intervention for seniors should be held
during the day because seniors normally shy away from being out at dusk or dark. If the intervention were for
the working population, there would be better attendance in the evenings or weekends. The goal with
determining the population for the intervention is to think of alleviating any barriers that may affect most of the
population (Powell et al., 2017).
Setting: Where will the intervention be held? Is there handicap access for seniors or elevator accessibility? Is
the location easily accessible? Is there public parking? What is the room reservation process? Is the setting
outdoors, and if so, are there backup plans in case of bad weather? As the health educator, you should take
into account the best setting to meet the needs of the population that has been identified (Nilsen, 2015).

You provided an insightful analysis of this particular process evaluation, and it seems that you were able to design a comprehensive presentation guideline. I agree with your tactic to break the presentation up into categories, and the categories you have selected seem to address the major components of the program, the evaluation itself, and the findings of said evaluation. You also provided a great analysis and summary of the PATHS program. The purpose of the program is clear, and the overarching purpose of the evaluation was made clear in your synopsis as well.

You addressed outcome measures very well, however, there may have been some lacking information in regards to overall evaluation methods as a whole. Addressing factors such as who was collecting the data, how they were trained, how their training or standing could limit potential bias, and similar information. This may be an important piece of information that could help to provide audience members with a better understanding of the evaluation processes as a whole.

Unit Lesson
In Unit V, we addressed how theories and models such as the social cognitive theory, the health behavior
model, and the theory of planned behavior play a role in intervention planning. This unit, we will build on the
foundation of theories and models and look at how to be strategic in determining interventions. The reading
highlights the concerns that health educators should have as it relates to the design and evaluation process to
determine the successfulness of interventions for a given health behavior.
Intervention Strategizing
When a health educator is developing an intervention strategy to help with a particular health behavior, there
are a few key factors to consider: identifying the target population, selecting a setting, setting goals and
objectives, and identifying resources and a timeline. Each of these factors are a concern for health educators
when developing interventions (Powell et al., 2017).
Target population: Who are you planning the intervention for? Are there any special needs? For instance,
adolescents have special needs because they are in school during the day, so an intervention for them would
need to be after school, on the weekend, or through the school. An intervention for seniors should be held
during the day because seniors normally shy away from being out at dusk or dark. If the intervention were for
the working population, there would be better attendance in the evenings or weekends. The goal with
determining the population for the intervention is to think of alleviating any barriers that may affect most of the
population (Powell et al., 2017).
Setting: Where will the intervention be held? Is there handicap access for seniors or elevator accessibility? Is
the location easily accessible? Is there public parking? What is the room reservation process? Is the setting
outdoors, and if so, are there backup plans in case of bad weather? As the health educator, you should take
into account the best setting to meet the needs of the population that has been identified (Nilsen, 2015).

You provided an insightful analysis of this particular process evaluation, and it seems that you were able to design a comprehensive presentation guideline. I agree with your tactic to break the presentation up into categories, and the categories you have selected seem to address the major components of the program, the evaluation itself, and the findings of said evaluation. Evaluation of the program is usually done to in order to determine the quality of the program, how effective the program is and how the program is performing. This can help to know if the program is making a significant difference among the targeted people. It can also assist to know if the program is functioning or not. This paper therefore seeks to evaluate the program which is assisting the homeless people within the community.
The two program evaluation questions are: what is the reach of the program? And what has been the impact of the program on the homeless people? Several theories have been conceptualized in the past on the concept of employees’ wellbeing and health. Studies have liked the deterioration of employee health and wellbeing on lack or reduced motivation in the organization or among employees in the organization. In most cases, the theories that have been used to study employees’ health and wellbeing in connection to motivation are naturally content and process theories. Process theories are focused on studying the needs of the employees while process theories are focused on understanding the behaviors of the employees. This study will investigate both the needs and the behaviors of the employees based on the variables in the research topic.
According to a study that was done by Abbot and Doucouliagos (2003), most of the content theories investigates the incentives, necessities and the basic elements of the job that contribute to human contentment. They also focus on understanding the basic factor in the organization that influences the conduct of the employees. Some of the commonly known content theories include Herzberg’s two-factor theory, McClelland’s theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory, and Alderfer’s ERG theory. This study will employ McClelland’s theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory
to understand the needs of the employees in this study. Similarly, Burns and Others (2015) argues that process theories are the kind of theories that investigate and explains factors that stimulate, direct, maintain and stop employees’ behaviors in an organizational perspective. There are four types of process theories and they include Expectancy, Equity, Reinforcement, and Goal setting theories. However, based on the goals and objectives of this study, expectancy and equity theories will be used alongside the identified content theories.

Diversity and multicultural perspectives are vital in the health education and public health fields in that it allows people to recognize interdependence and focus their ideas with a group other than their own. Additionally, it utilizes the patient's culture and language as tools to advance the results for that individual. According to the American Academy of Family Physician (2014), diversity and multiculturalism create a health care setting that appreciates diversity people feel welcome, appreciated, and allow medical professionals and organization to instil multiracial viewpoints into their strategy, plan and execute quality focused health initiative to all members of the community.
In general, embracing cultural diversity and multiple perspectives before starting an intervention program is vital to the provision and improvement of the overall quality of care delivery. It is, therefore, important to consider multiple perspectives before starting an intervention because diversity in the target audience and the program participants has ramifications regarding the things measured, the data collected as well as how the data is collected. For instance, before the program, one needs to consider factors such as nationality, race, and culture because, in some situations, race has been associated with some specific genetic diseases such as sickle cell anemia, and some lactose intolerance, which can influence the intervention outcomes (Issel, 2004). According to Issel, factors like physical characteristics of the population and community may affect the decisions during the planning and later during program evaluation. Furthermore, it is important to consider multiple perspectives before the program because program participants may bring their culture to the program in ways that may influence the intervention and its effectiveness.
Goal 1 could be applied to a diverse population; however, the goals need to be modified to be culturally inclusive. Different cultures have different foods and therefore to ensure that the participating population adheres to the program, the plan should state precisely the foods to be taken during the intervention to ensure successful outcomes. The second goal involves preventing obesity among children through childcare and schools. This goal can be implemented within a multicultural population however in needs some modification to get the best results. Different families have various methods of nurturing their children, and different meals could have an effect on the health of the child. The evidence-based program is defined as the programs that are effective and this is based on the rigorous assessment. One of the key features of EBP is that they have been assessed thoroughly in an experimental or quasi-experimental study. The evaluation of the EBP has been subjected to critical peer review and this implies that a conclusion has been reached by the evaluation experts. The EBP requires the ability to differentiate between the unverified opinions concerning the psychosocial interventions and the facts about their effectiveness. Several factors are associated with the failure to the successful adoption of EBP. The implementation of EBP for example in healthcare facilities requires the dedication of time. Therefore, lack of adequate time for the training and implementation of the EBP makes it hard to adopt it within the facility. The adoption of evidence-based practice also requires adequate resources. This, therefore, implies that there must be adequate resources to facilitate the effective implementation and the adoption of the EBP. This, therefore, implies that smaller organizations with unstable capital income might not adopt the EBP. Another barrier is the inability to understand the statistical terms or the jargons used in the EBP. This leads to barriers in understanding thus making it hard to implement the EBP (Duncombe, 2018). Therefore, the factors that might support the implementation of the EBP are the availability of resources and adequate time.

The difference between efficacy research and program evaluation is the scientific aspect. Program evaluations “primary purpose is to provide data that can be used by decision makers to make valued judgements about the processes and outcomes of a program (Sherpis, Young, & Daniels, 2010). Therefore, letting the agency know what needs to be changed in the program to make the program effective to their clientele. Efficacy research based on empirical data which is an essential to the scientific method. Therefore, efficacy research is where clients are in controlled environments and interventions can be tested.
What are the key strengths of efficacy research?
The key strength of efficacy research is the scientific process. In the article, The Efficacy of Child Parent Relationship Therapy for Adopted Children with Attachment Disruptions, the researcher wanted to test the child parent relationship therapy (CPRT) which “is an empirically based, manualized counseling intervention for children presenting with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral issues” (Cranes-Holt, & Bratton, 2014). The purpose was to test this theory on adoptive families. Thus, a control group was designed to test CPRT. The researcher used the Child Behavior Checklist-Parent Version (CBCL) and the Measurement of Empathy in Adult-Child Interaction (MEACI). These are both empirical test, the CBCL measures the parents of the child’s behavior problems; whereas, the MEACI is an operational measure that defines empathy between the parents and the child while playing. These tests are conducted in control environments where no outside distractions are permitted and the hypothesis of the researcher can be tested.

The key strength of the program evaluation is the clients are the people who are participating in the program evaluation and whether the interventions used are effective for them. Thus, this lets the research know what changes are needed for the agency to be successful. Evaluation of the program is usually done to in order to determine the quality of the program, how effective the program is and how the program is performing. This can help to know if the program is making a significant difference among the targeted people. It can also assist to know if the program is functioning or not. This paper therefore seeks to evaluate the program which is assisting the homeless people within the community.
The two program evaluation questions are: what is the reach of the program? And what has been the impact of the program on the homeless people? The answers to these questions would elicit both qualitative and quantitative results. Therefore, the program evaluation will require both quantitative and qualitative data collection plan. This is because the use of mixed-method approach is convenient since the results and findings would be reliable (Creswell, 2017). After identifying the evaluation program questions, the next step will be to come up with plan of evaluating a program. The plan should consist of methods of collecting data, evidences, the person responsible and the duration.

Several theories have been conceptualized in the past on the concept of employees’ wellbeing and health. Studies have liked the deterioration of employee health and wellbeing on lack or reduced motivation in the organization or among employees in the organization. In most cases, the theories that have been used to study employees’ health and wellbeing in connection to motivation are naturally content and process theories. Process theories are focused on studying the needs of the employees while process theories are focused on understanding the behaviors of the employees. This study will investigate both the needs and the behaviors of the employees based on the variables in the research topic.
According to a study that was done by Abbot and Doucouliagos (2003), most of the content theories investigates the incentives, necessities and the basic elements of the job that contribute to human contentment. They also focus on understanding the basic factor in the organization that influences the conduct of the employees. Some of the commonly known content theories include Herzberg’s two-factor theory, McClelland’s theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory, and Alderfer’s ERG theory. This study will employ McClelland’s theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory
to understand the needs of the employees in this study. Similarly, Burns and Others (2015) argues that process theories are the kind of theories that investigate and explains factors that stimulate, direct, maintain and stop employees’ behaviors in an organizational perspective. There are four types of process theories and they include Expectancy, Equity, Reinforcement, and Goal setting theories. However, based on the goals and objectives of this study, expectancy and equity theories will be used alongside the identified content theories.

Diversity and multicultural perspectives are vital in the health education and public health fields in that it allows people to recognize interdependence and focus their ideas with a group other than their own. Additionally, it utilizes the patient's culture and language as tools to advance the results for that individual. According to the American Academy of Family Physician (2014), diversity and multiculturalism create a health care setting that appreciates diversity people feel welcome, appreciated, and allow medical professionals and organization to instil multiracial viewpoints into their strategy, plan and execute quality focused health initiative to all members of the community.
In general, embracing cultural diversity and multiple perspectives before starting an intervention program is vital to the provision and improvement of the overall quality of care delivery. It is, therefore, important to consider multiple perspectives before starting an intervention because diversity in the target audience and the program participants has ramifications regarding the things measured, the data collected as well as how the data is collected. For instance, before the program, one needs to consider factors such as nationality, race, and culture because, in some situations, race has been associated with some specific genetic diseases such as sickle cell anemia, and some lactose intolerance, which can influence the intervention outcomes (Issel, 2004). According to Issel, factors like physical characteristics of the population and community may affect the decisions during the planning and later during program evaluation. Furthermore, it is important to consider multiple perspectives before the program because program participants may bring their culture to the program in ways that may influence the intervention and its effectiveness.
Goal 1 could be applied to a diverse population; however, the goals need to be modified to be culturally inclusive. Different cultures have different foods and therefore to ensure that the participating population adheres to the program, the plan should state precisely the foods to be taken during the intervention to ensure successful outcomes. The second goal involves preventing obesity among children through childcare and schools. This goal can be implemented within a multicultural population however in needs some modification to get the best results. Different families have various methods of nurturing their children, and different meals could have an effect on the health of the child. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic Imperative
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

How do you foresee these being applied in your program?To prepare: Review this week’s Learning Resources. You may wish to review the Week 3 Learning Resources as well, which may be pertinent. Consider the various facets of your program plan, such as your program goal(s) and objectives. Choose the evaluation theory or model (from nursing or related fields) most appropriate to your program. Be prepared to justify the choice of your model as it relates to your program. Based on the program you have developed: Create a time line for when to do measuring, when to implement monitoring, and when to evaluate program outcomes. What types of data would you need to collect in order to measure performance, monitor the progress of the program, and assess the program outcomes?By tomorrow Tuesday 1/22/19 6 pm, write a 550 words essay in APA format with a minimum of 3 references (see required reading list below).
