This document summarizes research conducted by Amanda Hall and Brooke Strother on travel motivations and characteristics of Oklahomans who travel to Europe. The researchers conducted surveys of Oklahomans and in-depth interviews with Central Oklahomans. Survey results showed that income level did not impact likelihood of overseas travel and many participants studied abroad previously. Interview findings indicated that typical participants were middle-aged, active individuals with no children at home who like to travel as a couple. The researchers recommended Erfurt target older parents, those celebrating anniversaries, and retired people as potential visitors.
