Dear SiriIVIdm,
Refereeos Report for Mr. Qing Zikun
It is a pleasure to write this recommendation letter in support for Mr. Qing Zikun. In my opinion, Zikun is an extraordinary young
man, and I have seen many examples of his talent and have long been impressed by his diligence and work ethic. I highly
recommend him to your organization.
I have known Zikun for three years in my capacity as a Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department at
National University of Singapore. He worked as an undergraduate student researcher in my research lab during his second year of
undergraduate study, and he took my Membrane Science and Technology course in his second last semester. Firstly, I want to
make note of Zikun's exceptional academic performance. As his professor, he has impressed me with his participation and
interaction in class and his perforrnance and knowledge on the membrane science and technology. Being evaluated on a term paper
and a final exam, Zikun earned an A in the class (top l0 percent). Zikun distinguished himself by submitting an exceptionally well
researched and interesting term paper on the industrial optimization oftangential flow filtration. He gave an interesting discussion
on selection of operational parameters of the filtration process with great attention to details, but the quality was never
compromised. Overall from his course, I think Zikun is highly intelligent and has a very positive attitude and truly embraces
leaming all there is to know about membrane. His excellent performance is also a direct result of his hard work and strong focus.
At a personal level, Zikun is a very disciplined and industrious student with a pleasant personality. Zikun worked as an
undergraduate student researcher in my research lab during his second year. He worked on the fabrication of the novel membrane
substrates and studied on the separation performance of the membranes on the water purification. Throughout his work, Zikun
demonstrated great perseverance and initiative. Not only was he interested in and motivated to leam the research subject, but he
also put great work into assimilating it to his own experience and developing his own ideas on the research matters. As far as I
know, Zikun also dedicated some of his time to volunteering activities besides the course and work. As he was in a leadership role,
he honed his organizational skills, communication skills, and leamt how to successfully complete multiple tasks with favorable
results despite deadline pressure. The skills acquired through volunteering will be beneficial to all ofZikun's future endeavors.
Overall, Zikun is zealous, hardworking, confident, meticulous, and innovative. He is able to lead in a team and works in a good and
safe manner. I have no hesitation recommending him for you. If you have any further questions regarding this recommendation,
please do not to hesitate to contact me.
