3. Data Enrichment
Data Enrichment is the practice of augmenting data from peripheral resources, like the manufacturer’s website, data
sheets, and indexes, catalogues and other relevant documents.
The Data Enrichment practice follows the methodology of Sourcing, Product Identification (Defining Noun Modifiers),
Product Classification, Taxonomy Development, Schema Development, Specification or Attributes Capturing,
Applications, Features and its Benefits, Information Listing, Description Generation (Long and Short using
abbreviations), Inputs from the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) / Technical Data Sheets / Installation Sheets, if
available, and Image Capture / Format / Resizing.
• Input Product Data: NORT 66.25294086.3 GW 7.0 7 X 1/2 X 1 1/4 St
Product Sourcing
Products will be sourced by researching Manufacturer/Supplier websites/indexes/catalogues to identify the product and its
accurate characteristic.
The product will be sourced as per the hierarchy captured below:
• Manufacturer Website/Catalogues: The first step is to try to source or corroborate the product info from the actual
manufacturer’s website as the results will be precise and authenticated.
• Supplier Website/Catalogues: Just suppose the product listing or info is not present on the manufacturer’s website,
and relevant details are not made available, then the next logical step is to source the product info online or visit
related supplier or distributor websites.
• Not found: In the event, the product listing or product details are not found online, and there is no relevant info that
can be sourced online, or after an exhaustive search, we will conclude that the same is not found. We will categorize
and capture the same as info or product listing not found.
Product Identification
Product Identification is the next pertinent step in the Data Enrichment practice. The product is sourced, and identified by
referring to the manufacturer/supplier website/index/catalogue. And then the Noun Modifiers are assigned individually for
each product.
Taxonomy Development
Once the product is identified, consequently the taxonomy or classification for the products are detailed and defined. The
taxonomy step in the Data Enrichment process sources the product from the root or its core category. Custom or Standard
taxonomy is defined depending on the customer line of business or product types.
• Custom taxonomy is tailored as per the customer products line and is much preferred as the spotlight is on the
customer product types. Accordingly the product classification breakup is defined in a comprehensive and detailed
manner and the hierarchy followed is perfect.
• Standard taxonomies that are created are generic and cover all domains, verticals and industries the products belong to
or are used.

4. Attribute Extraction
This is the step where all requirements or specifications of the product are captured. As in, manufacturer notes,
details, images and features that is sourced from the websites, catalogues, indexes and other relevant documents. The
attribute extraction follows the defined schema.
Figure (3). Schema for Grainding Wheel
Figure (4). Schema With Values
Schema Development
Schema development is a methodology where the specs and product attributes are captured. The schema helps
signify and maintain product specification in a consistent manner across the manufacturers.

5. Product Description
Product descriptions are created by capturing specification attributes and by pairing the specific names and values with it.
It can be tailored as per client/customer requisites.
The types of descriptions that are generated follows:
• Long Descriptions: Long Descriptions are created by following the steps of capturing the noun modifier,
specification attributes, values and names. The length of the description can be limited or restricted. Or on
the other hand, it can be set to no limits or it is not bounded by any limitations.
• Short Description: Short Descriptions are created by incorporating short forms or abbreviations. The length of the
description may be limited or contained depending upon the usage of the ERP systems.

Data Standardization and Normalization
Data Standardization includes identifying, spotting and setting right any typo errors and misspelling, text
conversions made to the acceptable and desired formats, standardizing and regulating manufacturer names, part
numbers and more.

8. United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC)
We have been working on the UNSPSC-determined classification and taxonomy method for many years now. Over time
we have learnt and adapted the many different facets and aspects of the UNSPSC-way of classification and our team
members are trained and specialized in the same.
Our consolidated UNSPSC experience has been captured in the following points:
• 95% is a given. It is not less than 95% accuracy
With our customized and tailored approach, we have adapted the classification process best-suited for the different
customer requisites, data and product types individually. This has ensured consistency and sure shot not less than 95%
accuracy in all deliverables.
• Repository of over 10M products
Our experience spans over 10 million products that we have helped classify, categorize under the UNSPSC
methodology and we have maintained an over 10M repository for anytime reference.
• Tools
In order to aid, streamline and better our classification process, we have developed and adapted a couple in-house auto
classification tools so as to ease and simplify the process of classification.
• Multiple domains and verticals
Our experience in UNSPSC classification and taxonomy spans across many different industry types, domains and
verticals. Principal among those include MRO, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, electrical and electronics, oil and gas
and automotive sectors.
• Version upgrade
As the UNSPSC classification system is ever-changing and newer versions are introduced by the governing body.
In the course of the project undertaking, if there are any newer versions introduced, or upgrades to the existing
versions, we will support you in this endeavor and the costs for the same will be set at the very minimal.
• Multilingual and multiple language support
With the help of in-house built data translation tools and other related services and also relying on dependable
translation tools available on search engines, we have worked on over 15 foreign languages excluding English and the
output and work quality after translating the different product names from any domain has been superior and without
incidence. Barring some minor changes or omissions, most times, the translation and language support has been spot-
on.

eCl@ss
We have been working on eCl@ss data classificatioin or eClass as it is popularly known for many years now. Our experience
in this form of classification has given us the understanding of the eCl@ss hierarchy structure, and the differences and
additions in the updated versions. Our eCl@ss experience in the recent past spans across eCl@ss 8.0, 8.1, 9.0, 9.1, 10.0.1, and
10.1 versions.

Our consolidated eCl@ss experience has been captured in the follwoing points:
• eCl@ss classification in your mother tongue!
At present, we extend eCl@ss to German, French and English languages. To facilitate this, we have a couple intuitively
designed translation tools that have been very helpful and achieve more than 95% accuracy in translations. We consider
it a big advantage and give us a niche presence in the eCl@ss data and product classification arena.
• Competency and knowhow
Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), are well-versed in the eCl@ss categorization and classification. They come with
wide-ranging experience that was gathered when working on many eCl@ss projects that ran on older versions. We have
SMEs specific to Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Laboratory supply products, and MRO, Electric and Electronics
products.
• Quality and SLAs
Quality is our mainstay. And to date, we have delivered at an accuracy level of not less than 95%. This is of course one of
our key highlights and qualifies as our strong points. And this just goes on to showcase our experience in eCl@ss
classification. We strongly adhere to all service level agreements. As an offshoot, if the client were to request for a
recheck and ask for a rework on already completed data groups, we will engage in it wholeheartedly, at no extra cost.
• Data confidentiality
We adhere to, and have incorporated the latest data security measures and policies. And we can vouch for a fact that
our client’s data is safe and secure with us.
