What can a jar teach
     us about
 prioritizing??????
Let’s pretend
       this jar
  represents
 one day- 24
   hours –no
more, no less.
As you
know, a day
fills up fast.
So does the
          jar!
Is the jar
       full?

There is no
more room
         for
rocks, but…
…there is
    plenty of
    room for
     pebbles.

Is it full yet?
There is not
 much more
   room for
pebbles, but
          …
…there is, of
course, room
  for a lot of
       water.
    Is it full
        now?
It
certainly
   is!
So what’s the
   point?
The significance of the rock, pebble,
and water activity is the ORDER in
which the items were added to the
jar. If we had stared filling the jar
with pebbles, we wouldn’t have room
for rocks.
The jar is like your
  time; just as the big
  rocks automatically
   made room for for
pebbles and water, you
   can automatically
  make room for “fun
 stuff” when you take
    care of your big
    priorities first!
So let’s work on your
      priorities!
Rock Priorities
       Your rock priorities
       are the things you
       have to do. Examples:
       • Go to school
       • Do homework
       • Help around the
         house
       • Sleep
Pebble Priorities
        Pebble priorities are the
        things you that you really
        enjoy and want to spend
        more time doing. Examples:
        • Sports
        • Band
        • Extra-curricular activities
        • Part-time job
        • Hobbies
        • Socializing with friends
Water Priorities
Water priorities are “If I get
to them, great. If not, oh
       well!” priorities. Examples:
       • Playing video games
       • Playing with pets
       • Watching TV
       • Texting friends
       • Playing on the computer
