Presentation at WCDP 2011 - Drowning Prevention in Finland - Pärla SalomaaParla (Pärla) Salomaa
Presentation held at the World Conference on Drowning Prevention 2011 (Da Nang, Vietnam) on the drowning prevention work done by the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation (English name of Federation changed in 2013).
There are only a few experiences more frightening and damaging than being investigated and/or charged with a criminal offense. This one event has the power to drastically change the course of your life by seriously damaging your good reputation, exposing you to costly fines, and perhaps even imprisonment. If you have been charged with a crime in Colorado or the Denver metro area I can offer you the aggressive representation you need. I will work to ensure that you your interests and rights are protected.
Remembrance and memorials: constructing cultural memoryHannakf
Warhorse or Regeneration? Birdsong or Blackadder? How have novels and films contributed to the construction – or reconstruction – of national memory? Focusing on the gap between the experience of war and its memorialisation, this workshop will exemplify ways in which the classroom can develop critical reading skills and awareness of key cultural concepts.

Peer observation is used at NILE for teacher professional development. It provides opportunities for teachers to gain new ideas, observe different teaching perspectives, and build trust among colleagues. NILE implements a variety of peer observation approaches, including arranged observations as well as shorter "drop-in" observations. Pre-observation discussions, observation feedback, and reflection are important parts of the process to ensure peer observation results in lasting benefits to teachers and their teaching.

Beetham Tower to najwyższy z wieżowców w Manchesterze i w całej wielkiej Brytanii (nie licząc wieżowców londyńskich;
gdyby doliczyć je do klasyfikacji, Beetham Tower uplasowałoby się na wciąż wysokim siódmym miejscu). Ukończono go
Ostatecznie jednak budynek powstał i umieszczony został w nim hotel Hilton.
Manchester Town Hall (ratusz) to potężny, dziewiętnastowieczny budynek umiejscowiony w samym środku miasta.
Zaprojektowany został on przez Alfreda Waterhouse’a w stylu wiktoriańskiego gotyku. Jedną z jego głównych zalet są
przepiękne malowidła naścienne prezentujące osiągnięcia okresu wiktoriańskiego – jego sztuki, nauki, życia codziennego,
edukacji, handlu i ważnego dla regionu przemysłu tekstylnego. Ratusz zwiedzać można tylko przy uprzednim
zarezerwowaniu sobie terminu.
szklane. Poza zwykłym zwiedzaniem (również z przewodnikiem) katedra oferuje specjalne, biletowane koncerty.
Muzeum Manchester to jedno z największych i najsłynniejszych muzeów w mieście. Jego wielkość jest imponująca –
piętnaście stałych ekspozycji rozłożonych na czterech piętrach! Eksponaty pochodzą niemal z całego świata i obejmują wiele
dziedzin nauki. Interesujesz się historią? Czekają na ciebie słynne ekspozycje egiptologiczne. Lubisz przyrodę? Wkrocz w
świat ssaków, ptaków i innych żywych stworzeń.
Emmeline to jedna z założycielek brytyjskiego ruchu
sufrażystek, najważniejsza angielska działaczka na rzecz przyznania kobietom praw wyborczych przed I wojną światową.
Pankhurst Centre to piętrowy budynek, z frontu z czerwonej cegły, w którym obecnie mieści się muzeum poświęcone
Emmeline. Wewnątrz zachowały się meble z początku XX w., a ogólna atmosfera miejsca przypomina zamierzchłe czasy. W
budynkami szpitalnymi Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Pankhurst.

Manchester United Football Club (bryt. wym. [ˌmæntʃɛstə juˈnaɪtɪd]) – angielski klub piłkarski z siedzibą w Manchesterze.
Występuje w Premier League, której był jednym z założycieli w 1992. Każdego roku jest regularnym uczestnikiem Ligi
Mistrzów UEFA.
Założony został w 1878 jako Newton Heath LYR Football Club. W 1902, dziesięć lat po dołączeniu do The Football League i
sześć lat przed pierwszym mistrzostwem kraju był blisko bankructwa i zmienił swoją nazwę na obecną. W 1910 Manchester
11 Pucharów Anglii i czterokrotnie triumfował w rozgrywkach o Puchar Ligi.
Manchester United posiada najpiękniejszy stadion w swoim

Zachodzie. W mieście żyją również Hindusi oraz Irlandczycy. Niektóre źródła podają, że w mieście mieszka około 35% mniejszości narodowych. Miasto ma
liczną Polonię, gościł tutaj m.in. Chopin.
Madame Curie w Uniwersytecie. Jest także tzw. 'Gay Village'.
