This document discusses a pre-study on the feasibility of wind energy potential in Banten, Indonesia. It finds that Banten has good wind energy potential based on wind speed measurements collected from an automated weather station. Wind speeds average 5.7 m/s at 50 meters height, allowing for development of medium and high-class wind turbines. A 6.2 MW turbine could generate an estimated 1.069 MWh of energy per hour. Developing wind power in Banten could help meet Indonesia's growing energy demands while reducing dependence on fossil fuels and cutting carbon dioxide emissions.
