In the last two years, “Hashtag Activism” has helped raise global awareness around pivotal social and political issues. From #BringBackOurGirls and #GamerGate to #JeSuisCharlie and #BlackLivesMatter, these rally cries from global citizens have served as a catalyst for change in some instances. However, digital activism often falls short, reducing serious issues to just words, RTs and Facebook Likes. This panel will provide tools and tactics for how to effectively use social media to move beyond the words and take action for the cause.
The document analyzes the lyrics of the Coldplay song "Fix You" and provides suggestions for how to depict those lyrics visually in a music video. It notes that the first verse expresses negative emotions like failure, despair, and feeling worthless. It suggests showing images representing these feelings, like a church representing last hope. The second verse is about unluckiness and being fed up, so winter scenes could show the mental state. The final verse is more hopeful, so the music video could change tone and include lights to visualize the hope. Overall, the analysis identifies themes in the lyrics and matches them to potential visual elements and scenes for a music video that would represent the song's meaning.
This document analyzes 9 different frames from the music video for Coldplay's song "Paradise" through descriptions of camera shots, framing, and focus. It shows how the shots tell the story of the band member escaping from a cage in a zoo to eventually finding paradise. Key shots include a long shot of an elephant escaping from police on a bike, a tracking shot of the elephant running into an underground train station, and a final long shot showing all the band members dressed as elephants, indicating the character has found paradise with the band's music career.

Coldplay's 2005 song "Fix You" was directed by Sophie Muller. The music video features footage of Coldplay performing live on stage and close-ups of lead singer Chris Martin singing. While the song's lyrics discuss emotional support, the video lacks a narrative and instead focuses on visually representing the song and band's performance. The music video uses visual elements as a metaphor to tell the narrative of an elephant escaping from captivity to return to the wild, representing a girl realizing her life is not what she expected and wishing for paradise. Some key shots include the elephant trapped in a cage at the beginning, contrasting the song's message of freedom. Cinematic shots of the elephant flying to an island create a calming atmosphere of relief and happiness. The document provides an analysis of the music video for "My Immortal" by Evanescence. It discusses several of the song's musical and lyrical elements as well as analyzing how the music video represents the genre characteristics of rock music. Key points made include that the song starts slowly but builds in tempo and instrumentation, the lyrics describe feelings of depression and being haunted, and the music video uses visual elements like Amy Lee's dark makeup and clothing as well as a gloomy setting to reinforce the depressive mood portrayed by the lyrics and music.

1. I Coldplay
I Coldplay sono un gruppo
alternative rock britannico
formatosi a Londra nel 1997.
La band è composta da Chris Martin
(voce, tastiere, chitarra), Guy
Berryman (basso), Jonny Buckland
(chitarra) e Will Champion
(batteria).
Jonny invece era quasi agli inizi, in
Chris cominciò a scrivere
nome scelto dopo aver scartato Big Fat Noises e Trombelese) suonarono Ode to Deodorant e So
concerto, i futuri Coldplay si esibirono davanti a più di 100 persone, suonando le canzoni If All Else
Fails, So Sad, Vitamins, Ode to Deodorant eJohn Squire Panic.
secondo album A Rush Of Blood To The Head(2002) segna la loro
studio Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, trainato dalla hit
I Coldplay
Per A Rush of Blood
to the Head, i Coldplay si rifanno a stili più similari a The
Beatles.
Bloody Valentine per Viva la Vida or Death and all his Friends.
Parachutes (2000/2001), A Rush Of Blood To The Head (2002/2004), X&Y (2005/2007), Viva La
Vida Or Death And All His Friends (2008/2009), Mylo Xyloto (2011).

Beatles Sir Paul MCcartney.
strumentale.
Ancient World Studies (studi sul mondo antico).
