Greek Orthodox Easter is celebrated with special traditions and family gatherings. Some traditions include children singing for Lazarus on Lazarus Saturday while carrying baskets, coloring eggs on Holy Wednesday, baking brioche bread, and having a procession of Christ's bier on Holy Friday. The Resurrection of Christ is celebrated on Saturday night along with cracking Easter eggs, throwing clay pots in Corfu, and making giant hot air balloons called "aerostata" in Leonidio.
