This is a book about the kangaroo. I wroted this for a special project about the animals that live in Australia.
RED KANGAROO
The red kangaroo lives across most of Australia except the east coast and some northern and southern areas. It is the largest marsupial and eats grass and flowers. The red kangaroo has thick fur, pointed ears, and sharp teeth adapted for eating plants. It uses its short front legs to grasp food and long hind legs and feet for powerful jumps. Though usually peaceful, the red kangaroo can be aggressive when angry. It is endangered due to hunting for its red fur.

Kangaroos
There are four main species of kangaroos found only in Australia: the Red kangaroo, Eastern Grey kangaroo, Western Grey kangaroo, and Antilopine kangaroo. Kangaroos live in habitats across Australia like bushland, woodland, forests, grasslands and scrublands. They are the only large animals that hop for transportation and can reach speeds up to 60 km/hr. Kangaroos live in mobs and have few predators like dingoes, wedge-tailed eagles, and humans, though they also had many extinct predators. They are herbivores that eat grasses and shrubs.
